  • You want to have a quick overview of it is only one Mauritian, take a step back to the market in Port Louis and you'll know what consumes the Mauritian and how he dresses and behaves. Vegetables, fruits, clothes, spices, kitchenware, jewelry fantasies, etc... Watch out for scams and never buy the first sellers. Do the tour and trade.

  • Nice market where you can stroll and relax, do business (requires haggling). Place where we truly see the local life of Mauritius.

  • We just loved the choices offered around the market, not too pushy sellers, good and cheap local food and drinks. Hard to find parking space. Extremely humid weather.. Loved the buzzing market and the whole city.
  • Do visit to get the local flavor and food. Don't buy souvenir from here you'll get them cheaper at the Super U store or any other mall.
  • Packed with fruit and vegetable sellers, very colourful. You need to be firm with hangers on who want to "help you" to show you around. There are some interesting stalls of local handicrafts. It can get hot and packed with people. Keep an eye on your valuables.
  • The typical market of Mauritius. You get the fresh vegetables. Meet the locals. Enjoy great street food like the farata, roti and dholl puri. Have a fresh drink of Alouda also.
  • The best alouda of Mauritius is here. Good food court in General.
