Mauritius Aquarium, Pointe Aux Piments
(2.4/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Discover the variety of the great blue sea at Mauritius Aquarium. As home to a large number of species of fish, including crown squirrelfish, batfish, clownfish, and butterfly fish, the colorful array here offers a good introduction to the country's marine environment for younger visitors, with informative displays about the island's surrounding ecosystem. Witness the activity at feeding time, when trained members of staff hand-feed giant moray eels, sharks, and sea turtles. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Pointe Aux Piments holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Mauritius Aquarium and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • How sad to see these turtles make the round trip in this little basin. The visit is done in barely an hour, aquariums are a little bare, the staff is very friendly.

  • We went to Mauritius Aquarium to spend an hour on our last day. With an admission ticket of 300 MUR, we thought this should be a good visit. But with hardly 20-25 small tanks, and ordinary presentatio...  more »
  • We visited the aquarium with our 3 year old son, who has enjoyed the tour. It's small but cute and the staff made its maximum when you spend some time giving us a lot of explanations. Interesting to be there for the fish meal (at 11: 00 and 15: 00 if I not mistaken).

  • A very basic aquarium which can be visited if you have kids and nothing else to do on the island. Tickets are on the higher side. Parking is free and they do have a small stall for refreshments within the campus. Souvenir shop is just before the exit. Bon Voyage.
  • Tickets very expensive and not soo many fishes . It's only a 10 minutes visit for Rs 300 rupees. They are doing just business. I don't suggest any one to go there.better you take a glass bottom boat ride it's much more better.
  • Nice fishes but only few tanks to watch + pool with turtle and small sharks. BE CAREFUL! All the pics in google with tunnel aquarium are fake! There is no tunnel aquarium, no interactions no attractions like this!!
  • Good place to take kids. They have a large fish tank which has tortoise, small sharks and lots of other varieties of fish. There is an entry fee which is common for locals and tourists.
  • Terrible. Overpriced at Rs300 and had nothing more than a few fish tanks. Can see more at a pet shop forfree
