Tamarin Falls, Curepipe

4.7
#1 of 7 in Things to do in Curepipe
A series of seven waterfalls, each pouring into the next fall below, Tamarin Falls reward a challenging trek with abundant natural beauty. It's best to hire a guide to lead you to the falls; the hike can be quite difficult, with near vertical climbs, and a guide will know the best and safest way to get you there. Likewise, he or she can tell you about what you're seeing and the landscape you're exploring. The trek to the falls leads through forest and lush vegetation, around ponds, and across wide-open expanses. The diversity of this area and the exotic plant and animal life make the trip particularly special. Adventurers can walk right alongside the falls, and even jump from the top of a small fall into the pool below. Make sure to wear proper shoes for hiking. • Our guide showed us this beautiful place of Mauritius. The ideal is to leave early to take advantage of the cascades with few people. Don't forget your swimsuit!

  • If you want to Tamarin falls should take a guided tour of Green Discovery with Prakash Isram! He has super this led us and also the surrounding flora and fauna. In several pools, we have just made to the swimming and also to the jump by one of the smaller waterfalls! His wife has prepared a real picnic with local snacks and tasty pineapple. A really successful hike!

  • beautiful 7 waterfalls that should not be missed. reachable only by car, there is a lack of directions, you have to follow the Navigator and drive over the clearing. you will be immediately affected to me from local guides, are necessary because otherwise alone in the forest you get lost, in fact the trails are not reported, also the path continues with a very steep hike through the rocks and mud in the forest. The effort is rewarded by the spectacle, especially the last waterfall, high, beautiful, impressive, as tall as the statue of liberty surrounded by a wild forest but fortunately devoid of pesky insects, snakes and ants. avoid the old guide is na alone, trust Jerome (the one pictured), asked us the equivalent of €10 each, or a young guy but not the elder! the photos are in order from the first to the seventh waterfall

  • Phenomenal. If you go tracking please be equipped. DON'T GO WITH FLIP-FLOP. Said so you can go by yourself, don't hire a local guide. Park the car on the wall of the natural park. Follow the sugar field and after 500 meters take the path on your left, you'll go down to the first fall (15 minutes) and if you want you can proceed following the green dots. All the trekking path is around 2 hours walking, you'll even pass behind a fall!! If it's raining, it's very very slippery so pay attention. The effort will pay you back with amazing views!
  • Marvellous place. Worth visiting
  • Beautiful twin waterfalls, worth checking out. Ticket will also grant you access to see the seven coloured sands of Chamerel.
  • Great view of the twin falls. Also check seven colours earth.
  • Enjoyed the scenic views
