Tamarin Falls, Curepipe

4.7
#1 of 7 in Things to do in Curepipe
A series of seven waterfalls, each pouring into the next fall below, Tamarin Falls reward a challenging trek with abundant natural beauty. It's best to hire a guide to lead you to the falls; the hike can be quite difficult, with near vertical climbs, and a guide will know the best and safest way to get you there. Likewise, he or she can tell you about what you're seeing and the landscape you're exploring. The trek to the falls leads through forest and lush vegetation, around ponds, and across wide-open expanses. The diversity of this area and the exotic plant and animal life make the trip particularly special. Adventurers can walk right alongside the falls, and even jump from the top of a small fall into the pool below. Make sure to wear proper shoes for hiking. • Many thanks to jay for us discover these beautiful waterfalls for a whole day with regular stops to rest, bathe the photos and enjoy the fabulous meal prepared by his wife, water is also provided. Jay explains the course throughout the life of Mauritius and its inhabitants until today which is very interesting in addition to all of the floral species that we discover. Thanks for this great hike that will stay this long in our memory, another facet of this beautiful island and its inhabitants. Chris and olivier

  • Beautiful landscapes, swim in the pools between two waterfalls makes forget market hours. The scents of the forest and the wild pepper plants fill the senses! The Marchloin team is guided by local, and composed mainly of premises. Registration by email, by mini bus pick-up and recovery at the end of the course. It pays only the rental of the bus from 250 rupees by people. the atmosphere is great and it easily makes new friends!

  • The waterfall is located in a pristine nature reserve and is bad. The path to it is style and bad walkable: good shoes is a must. Just like repellent: you are quite different. The advantage of this is that it decides not touristy.

  • Phenomenal. If you go tracking please be equipped. DON'T GO WITH FLIP-FLOP. Said so you can go by yourself, don't hire a local guide. Park the car on the wall of the natural park. Follow the sugar field and after 500 meters take the path on your left, you'll go down to the first fall (15 minutes) and if you want you can proceed following the green dots. All the trekking path is around 2 hours walking, you'll even pass behind a fall!! If it's raining, it's very very slippery so pay attention. The effort will pay you back with amazing views!
  • Marvellous place. Worth visiting
  • this is an amazing place, but it's hard to get there!
  • Excellent hiking path
  • Beautiful twin waterfalls, worth checking out. Ticket will also grant you access to see the seven coloured sands of Chamerel.
