  • Great place to visit! The garden is beautiful and very well maintained. The typical dwelling of the big time is great. One has the impression to dive into another story. You finish with a tasting of rum. Remember to buy here because by experience the prices are 2 times more expensive in duuty free on the product d exceptions. A tour of the whole place is essential when you come in Martinique. Even if there is world the place is so big that this is not a problem... Attention when it rained... About mud and slide in perspective which are not always indicated... Provide spare shoes!

  • Excellent overview of many aspects of the modern aspects of the Rhum industry as it evolved into it's current state. The 12 Euros are worth the complete package of a self guided tour coupled with an audio guide. The gardens, views, and old/new distillery are in some ways frozen in time. Interestingly it is as the site of a famous Franco-American summit with Presidents' Bush and Francois Mitterrand on 14 May 1991 after the first Gulf War. Yes, take time to enjoy all the sites, including the two air-conditioned art museums.
  • Always a very nice visit. Gorgeous grounds.
  • Spectacular way to spend a day. Thorough outdoor museum of farm technology, notable trees and plants and modern sculptures scattered around the historical plantation grounds. The sculpture garden is gorgeous and I wonder how it's not touted more in their advertising. The buildings have AC (a godsend) to punctuate your visit with a short film on the distillery and another containing the art museum with two floors of galleries. Each visitor gets an audio guide (available in at least half a dozen languages) and a map with numbered points of interest, from the farm tech to the buildings housing the historical elements of the plantation, including one honoring the visit between Bush and Mitterrand to sign an agreement on an invasion in Iraq (that whole disaster seems to have started here). Anyway, if you go nowhere else on your visit to Martinique, go here!
  • This is by far one of the best attractions we've seen on our tour of the island. The audioguide and exhibits do a great job explaining the rum-making process, and life on the plantation. There is a small art gallery on site, as well as a sculpture garden, and a free tasting at the end of the tour. Very friendly, multilingual staff.
  • Wonderful experience! You could really imagine and feel how people worked in the distillery years ago. Absolutely stunning garden with trees from all over the world and the rum tasting is of course the best of all.
