  • This memorial is to see on the road going towards the beach of the diamond. Place of meditation and memorial of the last wrecked slave ship. See the panels telling the history of this wreck onsite. Nice view of this site. Aligned statues... See the secondhand!

  • On the outskirts of the cockroach Cove, by the name of Jean Caffard colon, a ship carrying slaves ran aground in a snowstorm on the rocks of the coast, the night of April 8, 1830, while the Treaty had been declared illegal. The boat was completely destroyed, its name and nationality never established. On nearly 300 individuals, there were 86 survivors who were deported back to Cayenne. In may 1830, Martinique's Privy Council prescribed they are sent to Cayenne "to avoid having the West Indies with a special class of individuals who, without being slaves, in principle could not be considered free. Second deportation, new calvary. Action filed on the ground form a set of 15 busts of characters afflicted, tightly, in a triangle. They are oriented in the direction of Africa and the Gulf of Guinea, where their name. All present the same face leaning in the same direction, overwhelmed, eyes cast down to the Earth and the sea.
