Chateau Dubuc, La Trinite

3.9
#3 of 6 in Things to do in La Trinite
Admire the remains of Chateau Dubuc, a former sugar plantation with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Erected in 1721, the chateau fell into disrepair in 1815, having survived earthquakes, cyclones, and looting by British troops. Upon entry, you'll be given a self-guided audio tour (available in both English and French), allowing you to explore the 18th-century ruins at your own pace. Wonder through the spacious grounds, or follow the trail down to the beach to enjoy the cooling sea breeze. Some of the path can be strenuous and hilly, so wear good walking shoes and pack plenty of water and sunscreen. Work out when and for how long to visit Chateau Dubuc and other La Trinite attractions using our handy La Trinite trip itinerary planner.

Interesting tour but audiophiles boxes do not work very well... Lack of information corresponding to the different work restored, what a pity! We'll stick with basic information then what they have updated (archaeologists and others...) discoveries. An order to visit would be interesting for there is a certain logic in the course of the discovery of the various places of this candy. Magical place that I like but who lack of attractiveness, do little better, they are encouraged to carry out actions of more complete information with a correlation with the recent discoveries...

well preserved ruins of an old country estate - parts of the kiln can be still guess btw... nice view over the adjacent Bay. the trail through the forest starts before the entrance to the Château (fences were installed in the lower part of the plant)
