Chateau Dubuc, La Trinite

(4/5 based on 140 reviews on the web)
Admire the remains of Chateau Dubuc, a former sugar plantation with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Erected in 1721, the chateau fell into disrepair in 1815, having survived earthquakes, cyclones, and looting by British troops. Upon entry, you'll be given a self-guided audio tour (available in both English and French), allowing you to explore the 18th-century ruins at your own pace. Wonder through the spacious grounds, or follow the trail down to the beach to enjoy the cooling sea breeze. Some of the path can be strenuous and hilly, so wear good walking shoes and pack plenty of water and sunscreen. Work out when and for how long to visit Chateau Dubuc and other La Trinite attractions using our handy La Trinite trip itinerary planner.

  • At the foot of the castle of the start of the walk of the small path very interesting to be found in the mangrove. Good shoes and water are indispensable.

  • Complete tour of the site with audio guide very interesting but too complex. A video on the treatment of the cane in the small museum would be useful. The site is enchanting. One can well imagine life and work at the flourishing time.

  • A former home - made rums - completely in ruins at the tip of the peninsula ' island of the Caravelle - so you can access the site, but the entry is paid - to not do as we, at noon, it's interesting but no more these are ruins that have been rehabilitated in my opinion, to make money, no more there are other walks around the edge (the lighthouse) and trails that bring you so much without going through the box "money"...

  • Nice to visit !
  • Great place to visit and see a little history of the island from the 1600s
  • The exhibition area of the ruins of Château Dubuc is great, the audio-guide is bilingual (French and English). The over 20 stations can be reached on foot very well, this is unfortunately not always possible as a wheelchair. The visit very worthwhile for us, alone with this backdrop is super.

  • Very good place for sightseeing, opportunity to visit the ruins, take a walk on the caravelle and swim at the Treasure Bay. A must-see tourist Martinique.
