Chateau Dubuc, La Trinite

(4/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
Admire the remains of Chateau Dubuc, a former sugar plantation with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Erected in 1721, the chateau fell into disrepair in 1815, having survived earthquakes, cyclones, and looting by British troops. Upon entry, you'll be given a self-guided audio tour (available in both English and French), allowing you to explore the 18th-century ruins at your own pace. Wonder through the spacious grounds, or follow the trail down to the beach to enjoy the cooling sea breeze. Some of the path can be strenuous and hilly, so wear good walking shoes and pack plenty of water and sunscreen. Work out when and for how long to visit Chateau Dubuc and other La Trinite attractions using our handy La Trinite trip itinerary planner.

  • The visit is really good, the ruins are super well maintained and the system of guide really tells you the official history of the plantation and slave trafficking. (representing white I allows me a tribute: you who are dark skin e I ask forgiveness on behalf of my ancestors) But what l told you deserve really, if you have time, that you do some research. If it n there's almost nothing of the Castle and of dependency c is mainly because Dubuc was a pirate and a real. He has been denounced and neighbors (are cousin I think l anse spoutourne) looking for treasure that people have never found, for once it n have more wall. Legends about Dubuc are fire wreckers. Him enough to turn off the lighthouse and d light a fire in front of his castle to deceive the galleons and pillaged. D or Treasury. Remind you that we are in plenty in the land of pirates, from filibuster and the Buccaneers (who give their name to the calloused chicken virtualy what must taste)

  • We went through the ruins of the castle in the late morning in February 2017. The site is beautiful and very well maintained. The audio guide is easy to use with the plan and the very interesting explanations. The people encountered on the site were all welcoming. A ride in time with your family

  • Be well shod, and include water, I recommend it to do with children, quite tiring, much market and with the heat. It is worth seeing, go at the end of the course of the castle of dubuc, and here a magnificent view on the mangrove, we are alone in the world, a moment very peaceful.

  • Nice to visit !
  • Great place to visit and see a little history of the island from the 1600s
  • The exhibition area of the ruins of Château Dubuc is great, the audio-guide is bilingual (French and English). The over 20 stations can be reached on foot very well, this is unfortunately not always possible as a wheelchair. The visit very worthwhile for us, alone with this backdrop is super.

  • Very good place for sightseeing, opportunity to visit the ruins, take a walk on the caravelle and swim at the Treasure Bay. A must-see tourist Martinique.
