La Savane, Fort-de-France
(3.3/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
A common meeting place among locals, La Savane, once known as the Garden of the King, dates back to the 19th Century. The 12.5 acre (5.05 ha) park offers shade, tall trees, park benches, and walkways. Head to the center of the park to find the decapitated statue of Josephine de Beauharnais, Napoleon's first wife and Empress of France. She convinced her husband to reinstate slavery in the area following the revolution that abolished it. In her left hand she holds a locket featuring a portrait of Napoleon. • No you see not the Lions, if maybe those printed on t shirts Rasta, who stroll in this place very great or some night of party all plugged Martinique just to be around a big sound system... But happiness! the Savannah gives right in front of the Bay of Fort de France, if you have your shirt you can spend Rastas to Sergeant Major... fish of course of the sea of the Caribbean... and eaten in a small snack brand new on this beautiful square...

  • It is a central place of Fort de France. There are a lot of events and it's taken place to RV. Eat in one of the cabins or we serve typical dishes. to avoid the night very late.

  • Two steps from the center of Fort de France, this garden is nice for walking: big trees, and... a grassy Savannah... for walking or peak - fuck. On the edge of the savanna we have the interesting Archaeological Museum, the great library, the statue of Josephine and as the "Malecon" Havana... Plenty of places to eat on the go or more in restaurants a short walk...

  • As its name suggests it is a fairly arid Park, little vegetation, mainly a big and beautiful lawn that gives a little hindsight on the city, the fort and the port. Also unforgettable No...
