Ramla Bay, Xaghra

(4/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Snorkel, canoe, or rent a lounge chair and umbrella to experience the golden-red sands at Ramla Bay. Walk up the sandy path on the side of the beach leading up to Calypso Cave for a view of the full bay. For your comfort, be sure to avoid the center of the beach, as it can be rocky. Food choices are limited, so bring snacks or a picnic. You'll find plenty of free parking nearby and there is frequent bus service to the beach. • nice sandy beach but little else has a snack bar but wasn't open when we visited. There are toilets but not the most salubrious.
  • I frequent this beach Numerous times a year. It is one of my favourite places (as is the island) Always a lovely place, though I would recommend going off season, as peak summer months are just too b...  more »
  • Is pretty overrated I think. Quite small, no 100-metre long sandy beach with a sculpture on the beach. The beach was not red, but yellow - orange. The beach itself is nice so far. It rocks under water are however, so bathing and swimming is not easy. The access on an exceptionally pretty ordinary road is possible directly on the beach, there are some few parking spaces. On the beach there is a restaurant, which was however closed in November. The alleged "Calypso Cave" above the Bay, which is a rip-off, affords beautiful views of the beach from above.
