THE MASTER CRAFTSMAN

Paul Said is a keen believer in the beauty of simplicity. He believes that dreams can be expressed through art. Indeed, since a very young age Paul has been attracted to the Venetian Murano glass movement which in particular makes great use of glass, producing coloured vases and similar pieces, often in fused glass, and also using glass blowing techniques. In 1979, Paul established Valletta Glass and from humble origins today the brand Valletta Glass has become synonymous with artistic excellence, quality and craftsmanship in Malta and overseas.

THE CREATIONS

Valletta Glass is an innovative design based studio with an unrivalled reputation in standard and bespoke art glass products and decorative architectural solutions. Valletta Glass combines and exploits the glass’ aesthetic qualities of transparency, translucence, fluid form and texture with its inherent structural strengths and architectural qualities. Valletta Glass creations are the result of Mediterranean design coupled with traditional European glass-blowing and fusion techniques. Valletta Glass is well equipped to understand the far reaching potential of glass with many years experience, extensive technical knowledge and imaginative approach.

Parts factory in glasses, unusual color, with examples, large and small, from the very simple to the most worked. In addition to the manufacture for a store where you can purchase glass pieces or decorative souvenirs simpler. The packages are made carefully so as there is no damage when the same pieces were emaladas.

Don't go here specifically unless you have never seen glass blowing but worth it if visiting the area.Even then you might not actually see them at work but still an enjoyable display area / shop.  more »

Where to stay in Valletta

The small city of Valetta offers fewer lodging options than some of Malta's larger cities, but accommodations include everything from upscale hotels to less-expensive guesthouses. Stay in the city center at one of several old-fashioned hotels to be in close proximity to sights like St. Johns Co-Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, multiple museums, and a wide variety of restaurants. One fun option involves renting traditional Valletta houses that have been converted into rental properties and date back to the time of the Knights of Malta. Smaller bed and breakfasts are dispersed throughout the city. Book well in advance to avoid high prices.
