  • For a Euro, take it! There are cabs on the lower level, but they take more time and cost a lot more time to get up to the city. If you are taking an island tour via cab, have the driver drop you off a...  more »
  • I did not think that the elevator is an attraction, but it certainly is a very useful invention. Especially when you are looking for Military room Lascaris of Nicaea, the entrance to which tickets sell at the bottom, but at the top (!) in the barracca. Upstairs is one euro, down for free. There is also a staircase for enthusiasts who like to watch as the elevator flies by. Which side does not see this construction only disfigures the landscape. Will wait until any earthquake will not solve this problem.

  • It is interesting to notice that the lift is free down, but 1 euro upway.
  • Not good for those with vertigo! The lift is free to travel down from the upper gardens, so if you go down, go straight back up! There is a fee to travel upwards from the harbour. This relatively new extension feels quite out of place with its ancient surroundings.
  • free down, but you have to pay upway. But worth it
  • Worth paying 1€ to save your legs from 300 steps. It could be free though.
  • Great way to get from down at the bottom to up top.
