  • First time we tried to use this, it had closed at 4pm. This was probably due to a private event in the Upper Barracca gardens. As a result we had a very long way round to get back up to the upper leve...  read more »
  • This makes a huge difference - particularly if you want to get down to the Ferry at the Customs House in order to cross the harbour to Birgu etc. 
  • More comfortable to climb to the Upper Barakka Gardens without making all those stairs! It costs 1 euro.

  • Not good for those with vertigo! The lift is free to travel down from the upper gardens, so if you go down, go straight back up! There is a fee to travel upwards from the harbour. This relatively new extension feels quite out of place with its ancient surroundings.
  • Worth paying 1€ to save your legs from 300 steps. It could be free though.
  • Great way to get from down at the bottom to up top.
