  • Another majestic church in Malta. Full of details and magnificent decoration. If there's a service you can't go inside and take photos. Even not being a believer you must respect all the religions or ...  more »
  • It is a large church to parish square, Mdina walk St. Paul Street. Ceiling frescoes in bright colours and Dove out the rear altar was especially impressive.

  • Ticket for the church and the museum costs 5€ which is a fair price I would say. museum has some works going on and does include lots of art from the reinessance up to the modern art. If you don't care about the art, don't mind with the museum, since most of it is just art and some silver things. The church is relatively okay. Nothing special. It has a cool dome and is painted well. Interesting to see. As for the other parts of the church, the only thing that caught my attention was the floor. It was made out of these slabs with different inscriptions. First time I've seen a church with that kind of flooring. Sides and ceeling of the church are average. If you've seen a cathedral before, you'll not really notice the difference except for maybe the size. It's a smaller cathedral than it's mainland Europe brothers and sisters. If you like attention to details, you'll enjoy decrypting the difference between other cathedral arts and this one's.
  • Not just the cathedral, but the whole of Mdina is simply from another world. Once you step inside, you're going back in time. The history just breathes from the walls and you can imagine how life was centuries ago. I recommend going early in the morning, before all the crowds arrive.
  • Amazingly beautiful Cathedral! Each of those painted stones on the ground is a tomb. But some of them are empty, but already prepared or reserved for somebody. As we've been told, this Cathedral was founded by the first person converted to Christianity. And later on fed to the lions, but I don't know why yet.
  • If you ever visit Malta, Medina is a must see! First of all Horse Cars may look interesting however, it is much better to walk around and feel the city (Horse riders price is 35 Euro and they go down to 25). It is hard to believe there are still over 250 residents living there. Lovely place with its uniq environment, architecture. The Cathedral is at the heart, and looks beautiful.
  • Loved the church although just one in a long list, however was surprised how much I enjoyed the museum, the coins following the Maltese story and the Durer engravings. Great!
