Majjistral Park in the Maltese Islands - A place where wild nature, labyrinthine boulder screes and aromatic garigue blend in with the rural nature of the area with its small cultivated parcels of red earth, kilometres of traditional dry stone walls and corbelled stone huts. The natural, geological and archaeological heritage features are set amidst a unique landscape with far reaching views.

Established in 2007, the National park extends along the coast from ir-Ramla tal-Mixquqa (Golden Bay) to Il-Prajjet (Anchor Bay) l/o Mellieha.

Il-Majjistral Management Board is composed of Government representatives as well as the Heritage Parks Federation made up of 3 environmental NGO’s appointed collectively as Park Managers. These are:

-Din l-Art Helwa

-Gaia Foundation

-Nature Trust (Malta)

Entrance to the park is free. Visitors to the park are to take care of their own safety and that of any accompanying children and the park cannot be held responsible for any injuries or loss of property.

  • A very interesting itinerary shows beautiful landscapes and views of Malta. The road goes uphill, sometimes down to the sea, which is unreal turquoise color, there are ancient structures destroyed. Interestingly, in principle, go easy, but you need to stock up on water and wear comfortable shoes. Images look exceptional!
