Xrobb l-Ghagin Nature Park, Marsaxlokk

(4.3/5 based on 30+ reviews on the web)
Xrobb l-Għaġin Tower, originally known as Torre di Siuarep, is a ruined watchtower in Xrobb l-Għaġin, limits of Marsaxlokk, Malta. It was built in 1659 as the eighth of the De Redin towers. An entrenchment with two redans was built around it in 1761. The tower is now largely destroyed since it was built of globigerina limestone which is prone to erosion. The remains of the tower's scarped base, as well as the general outline of the entrenchment, can still be seen.

  • We walk around here many time a weeks and it's always nice to see the birds, boats coming past and sometimes the hunters in hunting season which are always friendly to talk to.  more »
  • Nice missed especially if the Sun is out. Impressive cliff. Nice point of view. To succeed this day don't forget your cameras.

  • Xrobb l-Ghagin Nature Park. One of the grottoes in Malta, particularly unremarkable, though there is a museum. But very beautiful sea views.

  • Nice beach - great view - to avoid when the Maltese people are doing barbecues.
  • Place is a bit run down but overall views are very nice. Beware of horrid road condition.
  • Very hard to get to but well worth the trek. The Maltese government run a scheme to name and plant a tree. Amazing views which are unrivalled...and all FREE. There are no shops so bring your own water! PS Do not pay 'locals' for directions!
  • View is gorgeous, but the hiking way is full of garbage, like everywhere else in Malta (except Mdina and hidden towns)
  • Nice beach in the South where water is very beautiful and clear.
