Alimatha Island, Vaavu Atoll

4.6
#2 of 8 in Parks in Maldives
Try your hand at fishing in crystal clear tropical waters lapping Alimatha Island, where many visitors come in hopes of catching marlin, pointy-nosed game fish native to the area. You can also take an aquatic adventure to a world-renowned dive site popularly known as the "Shark Channel." Don't be surprising if your diving escapade brings you closer to other large sea creatures, including stingrays and giant trevally. • My husband and I wanted to relax and our expectations were met in full!! We thought that the photo of the place they were a bit ' touched up ' but it doesn't ... the resort is gorgeous, fabulous Beach and sea, from breathless!! Were staying in Beach bungalow, crazy view!! Maldivian staff always with a smile and the staff at Bravo Club was truly spectacular, all friendly, not pushy, sweet and affectionate with our little girl of 3 years ... this resort is recommended for families, there are so many couples with children ☺ ️ Only What we don't like is the excursion to the island of fishermen, a bit pricey for what then has the place and then thought a bit all forced (by the reception of children to the sale of local products). I appreciated the massage at the SPA, a bit pricey, but worth it, okay even exit in snorkelling with diving. The Bazaar somewhat pricey, you will find the same things at the airport at a lower price, beautiful boutique products there and instead deserves a lot, prices are high, but there is for the originality of the pieces and the place where you are. Lunch, dinner and breakfast quite varied. We'll return ... as soon as you can! Alimatha in heart ❣

  • It is the third time that I return to the Maldives, and after traveling around the world I can tell you that better EC just Polynesia. with respect to the structure, and well maintained, edited and always improving, nice beach but not great, too many large corals (not talcum powder as the atolls in the North) clean rooms friendly staff. I have been in over water, beautiful and very showy but inefficient to the Sun in the morning or afternoon, very windy and the tide too loud so the sound of the sea after 2 days from annoyance, the nice restaurant and good food, although we should mention that in the villages inte rnazionali, the pasta was not as good as here but we had lobster and other delicacies that here you have to pay gold (Japanese people eat sushi as we paste) so if I have to recommend a better international island. Beautiful sea beside the restaurant but present many corals in the water. In finale for my experience between the Islands that I was this was more disappointing,

  • We were in the middle of July and, thanks to the good weather, it was a "perfect" holiday for my family: both of relaxation and fun. Animators Bravo that they enjoyed it but without being pushy. Diving center and Biologist fantastic and helpful. Food very good and varied. Very nice and clean bungalows. Maldives family's reach. I would return for.

  • The place, needless to say, is a true paradise. Needless to stand here and tell the spectacular colors of the sea, the brilliance of sand or the thousands of fish found by snorkeling directly from the landing stage (by the way, portetevi mask, fins and snorkel, you won't regret it!). They are just experiences to try. Now, we come to the village. The rooms are really cute and well catered for, as well as the staff (both Italian that Maldivian) is really helpful. The rooms are arranged for 2 times a day. Impeccable. The entertainment guys are present but never intrusive. The food is good, really good (I do not know who complains). We did 2 shore tours, snorkeling, snorkeling before always with the second stop at the sandbar. Both nice, give it a try. I mean, at least once in your life, let us a ride, you won't regret it.

  • The island is beautiful, even if the lagoon is quite ruined (if to the changed climatic conditions, the tsunami or the carelessness of visitors is unclear). Cleanliness is excellent. The beach bungalows are comfortable but lacking any privacy (you hear everything that happens in twin room). The food is good and enough variety but forget the romantic dinners (the table is shared with other people). The three stars are for the Maldives to this resort.

  • Nice, a village well organized, the boys of animation all Italians are professional, discreet and simpatcissimi. The buffet food is varied and lovely Vues, with lots of choices. From the jetty in the evening you can feed the sharks and for the brave is also possible to swim with them. Suitable for children because it is a very lively village. For lovers of white beaches, Palm trees, and the lagoon is perfect. The rooms are large with very nice bathroom. Keep everything clean. In the morning you wake up with breath-taking sea views! On the other hand you are in the Maldives!
