Nature / Park
Enjoy a patch of greenery at Sultan Park, where flowers grow around an abstract central monument. Take a few moments to stroll through this small park, taking advantage of the shade provided by the lush trees. Once part of the sultan's palace grounds, the park surrounds the national library of the Maldives and the country's premier history museum. Put Sultan Park and other Male attractions into our Male vacation route planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • A nice place for break. This used to be part of the Palace when the Maldives was a sultanate (kingdom). The park is small (takes less than 3 minutes to cross the park from one end to the other) and you can hear the sound of vehicles horn in the adjacent roads. The only "quiet" place in Male'. From here you can easily visit the museum and the grand Mosque which are both within about 3 minute walking distance. The park has no toilets, no drinking water facilities and not enough seating arrangements. The park is in need of major repairs and maintenance.
  • Before it was Sultan palace . The Sultan palace was demolished with a few buildings remained. It seemed some area of the park was closed under construction in 2017 Spring.
  • A nice place with different trees, good for a walk, currently under construction
  • Oldest park in the city. Renovated and now a place where many events take place.
  • Currently one of the least appealing parks in Maale. Be careful in the evenings and late nights.
