Tanjung Bungah Floating Mosque, Tanjung Bungah

(2.7/5 based on 60+ reviews on the web)
Featuring seven-storey-high towering minarets and panoramic views of the sea, Tanjung Bungah Floating Mosque is a wonder of Moorish architecture. The impression of floating is achieved with numerous supporting pillars, sunk deep into the seabed and visible during low tide. Built in 2004, the current building replaced an older mosque damaged in the tsunami. The building is especially lovely in the evenings, when artificial lights reflect in the water. • I think that the name comes from the fact that when the tide is high, the mosque appears to be floating, but in reality it's anchored to the ground with concrete pillars, however it is very beautiful and is located on the road linking Georgetown with Batu Ferringhi.

  • Just a normal town mosque for the local muslim to congregate n pray.IT IS NOT FLOATING. Just being built beside the beach. Easy parking n comfortable praying area.
  • Great Mosque on the water. Well not in the full sense of the raft, and construction on stilts, is quite significant. For prayer is going to pretty much veru4jushhih
