Tanjung Bungah Floating Mosque, Tanjung Bungah

(3.6/5 based on 70 reviews on the web)
Featuring seven-storey-high towering minarets and panoramic views of the sea, Tanjung Bungah Floating Mosque is a wonder of Moorish architecture. The impression of floating is achieved with numerous supporting pillars, sunk deep into the seabed and visible during low tide. Built in 2004, the current building replaced an older mosque damaged in the tsunami. The building is especially lovely in the evenings, when artificial lights reflect in the water. • It is indeed an amazing praying experience, worth visiting. The scenery is pretty awesome in the evening.  more »
  • It is located next to the beach and looks like it is floating in the sea however there weren't any signboards to indicate its location. It is on your right side if you are going up to Batu Feringghi  more »
  • We started our second day at Penang with a visit to this masque and were much impressed by the way in which the mosque is maintained and by the friendly people there.  more »

  • Serene, peaceful, a welcoming house of the All Loving Creator. My spirit adores this masjid.
  • Beautiful view Near to food court Convience to stop to rest and solat for muslim
  • One of the attractions in Penang. Accessible by Rapid Bus, Hop on Hop off service, or by Car. The mosque was built by the shore, and during high tides, the mosque seems to be floating.
  • That's really great, you can find a beach with rock sand. Nice place to search for the serenity.
  • A very unique mosque. Instagram worth pictures can be taken during sunset
