  • Visited this place because of 2D exhibition. Not so much on history of Perak or Taiping, but generally on Malaysia like traditional cloths, games & foods; old cars; and animals. Fun place to enjoy it ...  more »

  • The building is of British Colonial architecture. It is the first and oldest museum in Malaysia founded in 1883. Within the museum there were 3D murals, animal skeletons, handiworks, handicrafts and weavings, the aborigines gallery and others. Outside the building were antique cars, horse carriage and statues of British officers. The museum was interesting with plenty to see and read. Entrance fee was only RM2.
  • Great little museum the exhibits were well set up and have a great introduction to the region and tin.. Orang Asli exhibits are really great.
  • Come here if you want to know the history of perak
  • Sometimes a museum is a museum of a museum on it's own. That's the case here. Nothing modern around, just old showcases with mostly unreadable explanations. Some natural history with stuffed animals, some folklore, thats it. Good to spend half an hour or so.
  • I expected more local history out there. What a disappointment.
