  • We went to Gurney Plaza both because most of the attractions have been covered and also because it was just too hot to continue with outdoor activities, lol! And what can I say - just like its counter...  more »

  • Gurney Plaza is no doubt my favourite shop-dine-and-relax mall in Penang. It is huge and has beautiful sea view. There are hotels within walking distance too. The place is packed with people on weekends. If you park your vehicle at Gurney Plaza, you can just walk to Gurney Paragon, an awesome shopping complex as well. Will I consider to visit this place again? Yes, definitely 😊😊😊
  • This bay-view plaza has been there for quite some time. A must-visit shopping centre whenever you are in Penang - Malaysia. The best time for you to be there would be 3pm or 4pm. After you get tired of shopping, remember that this plaza is only about 30 metres away from a considerably big outdoor food-court, which will open around 6pm. Very practical, ain't it? Great shopping and dining experience within walking distance.
  • Although this mall has been around since 2001, it continued to draw the local crowd compared to the newer Gurney Paragon nearby. The main attraction was the extensive basement of F&B options, from local cuisine to international fast food. We enjoyed the Little Nyonya Cuisine in Gurney Plaza. There was lots of shopping options too, from mass market retailers to luxury brands. Hop over to neighboring Gurney Drive Hawker Centre for local street food.
  • It's constantly upgrading, making it one of the best shopping mall in Penang. The only issue is that that road is almost always congested. Now there's a massive project going on along the gurney drive area, making it a place where everyone is looking forward to.
  • What is so great about this place?? From what I saw it caters only for the Chinese. Didn't see one Malay or by that a foreigner. All Chinese. Majority of the food outlets are catered for them. Nothing international offered. Instead having been fed up of eating Chinese of which most here were not HALAL we had no choice but to eat at a McDonald's or a subway. Dont waste your precious time getting here. It is an overpriced mall with nothing but a pretentious feel. Ugh!!
