  • Great place for breakfast. From the South side of the market is a lot of stalls serving a rich breakfast in the style of Indian, Chinese, Malaysian. There are also options for vegetarians, although some things may end around 10:00.

  • This market is a fun place to roam around and see the selling of delicious fruit and vegetables. Not to chaotic and there are a couple of food hawker stalls.  more »

  • It's fun to visit this market even if you do not intend to buy anything from the wet market. The produce and meat here are fresh though pricier than most of the other markets. There are plenty of food stalls and coffee shops selling really good food. There are also vendors selling anything from magazines and fruits to home appliances and clothes.
  • We grew up knowing this place - the classic must- have soya sauce store at the corner, the rows of traditional cakes stall fronting the path way .... and countless stalls in the market. Night fall reveals yet another side to the market. Look out for the prawn noodle stall. Used to be very good. Cherish this place for soon it will be in the twilight.
  • A local wet market selling a wide range of produce. The produces are of high quality but prices are higher than average. The market is fairly clean and organised. The hawker centre within the market houses several noodle stalls which are popular with the locals. Parking space around the market are hard to find, but if one doesn't mind paying a little more, the Moulbein Tower basement offer a good alternative.
  • I wished that prices are displayed for easy calculation. I thought there's a kementerian ruling for displaying of prices. Especially for seafood and poultry.
  • Nice place for breakfast.. expecially the wanton mee.. and the market lovely

Where to stay in George Town

As an established tourist destination, George Town offers a range of options making use of the city's famous architectural diversity, with boutique hotels in the old town themed around the history of the building they occupy. For such singular accommodations, expect to pay a little more. Budget hotels and unbranded local options provide a comfortable night sleep at an affordable rate. The coastal areas offer more expensive resort-style luxury rooms with sea views, while away from the beaten track, you'll find backpacker hostels providing good options for those wanting to keep on the move.
