Lok Kawi Wildlife Park, Penampang
(3/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Meet some of Southeast Asia's most famous creatures at Lok Kawi Wildlife Park. Opened in 2007, the park focuses on both the zoological and the botanical, divided into separate areas. In the zoo, see the endangered proboscis monkeys with their huge snouts and pot-bellies--a native species found only on the island. In the botanical area, follow the 1.4 km (0.9 mi) paved jungle trail, walking through arrangements of flowering vines and surrounded by towering lime trees. • It is a good way to see some of the native animals of Sabah. A pleasant change to laying on the beach.
  • I had a great time with my friends at this wildlife park. There's a huge aviary, elephants, monkeys, etc. There's also a shuttle service back to the entrance gate if you're already tired from walking....  more »
  • It's suitable for family outing activity. We miss the animal shows which is quite interesting. A lot of thing has changed from last time of my visit. The bird are fascinated especially Rhinoceros horn...  more »

  • It's a pretty well laid out zoo, and for only RM10 entry (20 for Foreigners), it's great value for money. It is clean, well thought out, and wasn't too crowded even on a Sunday. We got there at 1.30pm which was perfect to saunter around for a bit before following the light feeding times of the sun bears, Tiger, otters and gibbons, and then proboscis monkeys. Feeding starts at 2pm and they are all one after the other. There is a very small but entertaining show at 3:15 at the amphitheater. I would highly recommend this place if you have kids, and even if you don't and have a few hours to kill and want to see some animals, this is a good place to do it at.
  • Some amazing animals to see. Definitely a zoo though, not a wildlife park. Knowledgeable staff, definitely get there for feeding time for a great show (starts at 2pm, but times may change). If you can't make feeding time I'd give it 3 stars.
  • It truly was great and good places to tell the kids how important the wildlife in a good environment.
  • Good 1st experience for kids. Shows are not punctual. So typical of Malaysians 😅 Needs more proper directory and signage. Sad to see small pets like guinea pigs and rabbits are not well taken of. Lack of petting zoo.
  • Entry fee per pax is RM10. With the price you pay, with what you get. RM10, totally can;t expect much. The zoo consist of various animal but not kinda interactive. Some of the animal is cooped in poor condition. Nothing much excited.
