  • This place is a small fort built by the Portuguese while in Melaka a few hundred years ago. Actually the fort is a small one up on a hill. Nothing special when you climbed up there, and the place is q...  more »
  • It is about a 50 minute walk from the town centre down roads with no paths. When you get there you wonder why you bothered. My advice-don't.
  • Nice historical place but it is really high, not safe for children and elderly people to use the stairs. Stairs have large cracks, high steps and muddy. Good spot to take pictures with the cannons. Be ...  more »

  • Old fort on the hill of St John. Used to be a look out fort and long time ago, the sea line was much nearer to this hill. If you come by car, you can drive the car up the hill, although there's limited parking on the hill. Otherwise you will need to park down, and there is a short walk up to the hill. Afternoons will be hot. At the foot of the fort, there's a stone stairs up to the fort itself. It's a small place. Doesn't close, although, one really shouldn't come late at night. From the fort, take photos with the bronze cannons. And try to see far beyond to the seashore.
  • Wonderful Place!! I really like here. I could enjoy not only wonderful view but also history.
  • Visit the Fort St. John: the Fort built by the Dutch in the 18th century, it is located in the hills of St. John, about 3-4 km compared to Jonker Walk. The most convenient is to come here by taxi. The whole area is like a park with trees, hills, the staff are intently with his work, and the old cannon ... I recommend to go there in the morning, whether we go there in the afternoon and everything is pretty good.
