Malacca Sultanate Palace, Melaka

4.0
Explore the many rooms of Malacca Sultanate Palace, where period artifacts and dioramas bring to life the history of the region and the culture of the 15th-century sultanate. The museum occupies a modern reconstruction of the original palace, built using information and data from the Malay Annals--a romanticized history of the sultanate, considered one of the finest works of literature in the Malay language. Admire ornate furniture and period clothing, and inspect antique weapons, jewelry, and artworks. Round off your museum visit with a stroll through the royal gardens, filled with flowers and fishponds. Worth a look. The same story is repeated a a few of the museums but there are originals that make it worth while. They have A/C installed but it doesn't do much in most areas of the palace  more »

Beautiful wooden palace. Under a location in São Paulo, close to St Paul's Cathedral and the ancient city of Portugal. The whole building a three-tier, a former Palace of the first King of Malacca, now opened up for the dynasty Museum of the Sudan, which are basically the introduction to the history of Malacca during the dynasty of the Sudan. Visitors need to take off your shoes to enter, space, basically half an hour can be visited. This place needs a ticket, think it was m $20 a person. Suitable for taking pictures but also suitable for understanding the history of Malacca. Recommend.

Historical Junkie? Do visit this Palace! A replica and was interestingly constructed without the use of a single nail. It showcases the history of the region. It appropriately holds galleries of the pre-colonial rule, a time when this was a very important seat of power for the entire Malaysian Peninsula and surrounding area. The place has seven gallery rooms revealing what a Sultanate chamber meeting might have been like. There are displays of Malay dress, arts and crafts as well. The building dates from the begining of the 20th century, but gives a nice view of the life and culture in the former sultanate and the history of Melaka. Signs are both Malay and English. Good for those with young kids too. Since Melaka is often hot and humid, taking a walk in the museum would provide a reprieve from the heat.

No nails, built with wooden pegs, this 3 storey replica palace showcases all of the history of Malacca - Hang Tuah and his legend, sultanate history, including arts and gifts. Talk a slow leisurely walk, see the displays as well read those informations to gasp the history of Malacca.

Where to stay in Melaka

Luxury hotels in opulent buildings frequently sit right alongside budget accommodations in Melaka. Side streets and alleyways offer secluded rooms in attractive buildings that are often as grandiose as regal hotels. For budget lodgings, look for the main arterial roads, which lack the charm of the rest of the town, but provide comfortable rooms at reduced rates.
