Christ Church, Melaka

Inspirock Rating:
3.2/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web
The oldest functioning Protestant church in Malaysia, Christ Church also represents a well-preserved example of Dutch colonial architecture. The building's facade features a large white cross and the words "Christ Church Malaka" emblazoned across it in white. Walk inside this 18th-century shrine to see its simple rectangular interior with 200-year-old pews. Look up at the ceiling rising 12 m (40 ft) above you, spanned by sturdy wooden beams cut from a single tree. The tombstones incorporated into the floor belong to Portuguese and Armenian Catholics, moved there from a nearby church during the Dutch occupation.
