Langkawi Sky Bridge, Langkawi

#3 of 133 in Things to do in Langkawi
Walk across Langkawi Sky Bridge, an impressive landmark of engineering set in lush natural scenery. Connecting two hilltops of Machinchang mountain, the curved bridge spans 125 m (410 ft) and hangs around 100 m (328 ft) above the ground. Its bends allow you to catch different perspectives on the virgin rainforest beneath as it twists around natural features, creating new vistas. Catch a cable car up the mountain, then take a 10-15 minute hike to reach the beginning of the bridge. This is once in a life time experience and should be attempted in the travel itinerary. Also houses various attractions like 3Dgallery, 4D dome etc.  more »

Situated inbetween two peaks, the way its constructed and the view it provides are great. The glass flooring at 3 places gives you a feel of floating in sky. If the fog covers it during your visit, wa...  more »

We had to visit twice to access the sky-bridge which is often closed in rainy or cloudy weather. It pays to ask tourists who are exiting the 'Oriental Village' whether the Sky-bridge is open before ta...  more »

I loved to go there and the glass in the sky bridge I loved it. And the bridge was very much trembling that we thought that it was earthquake. And in the top of the bridge we heard the tune of flute with Hindi songs. The man was doing his work very properly and all the children were enjoying. And I love this place and you must visit this place.

A must see for any Langkawi visitor. It has attractions for all ages. The Sky Bridge itself is a fascinating place to be. Gorgeous views of mountains and seas all around. Usually there is a cool breeze to comfort everybody. It's better to take the tram to get to the bridge otherwise there is a long stairway to navigate (oh my knees...)! Of course, the spectacular views are perfect compensation! There are some glass squares set on the bridge walkway through which you can almost see the bottom. Some people stand on the glass squares to take pictures (not advisable for the nervous or who hate heights). There are other attractions for younger visitors at the base like 3D pics, video games etc. Ticket prices are reasonable. Two things to remember - avoid the irritating photographers, they charge a huge amount for a simple group pic that you can take yourselves or simply with the help of a fellow tourist. Other thing is to keep your taxi for the duration of your visit here. Happy travelling.

When I was in year two, me and my family went for a vacation to Langkawi. At that time, I felt so scared while riding the cable car and walk further on the skybridge. Before riding the cable car, there would be a huge line and I probably had to wait for 30 minutes. To me of course, it is not the most scenic, but I can get the best to view half of Langkawi from above, even the ocean. You can also feel a good breeze up there as well. I had fun up there, so many memories. I hope I'll come back to visit again.

Breathtaking!... Must visit place in Langkawi. Been there in June 2017. If you rent a car (As it was affordable) skip the premium parking (First parking entrance as you reach the cable car area) the second entrance (Standard parking) is much more cheaper.

An extra 5MR for a ticket out to the sky bridge was very cheap and worthwhile doing. It's a very impressive structure with stunning views. Unless you have trouble with stairs then the funicular won't be worth it. The walk is short but a bit steep. It looks like they are building more paths, atthe moment it's narrow and 2 way so will be better if they make it a loop to avoid congestion.

Where to stay in Langkawi

Langkawi Island offers by far the greatest number of accommodation optionsĀ out of all 104 isles in the archipelago. Look for affordable and comfortable rooms in Kuah and the southwestern peninsula, where inexpensive hotels, hostels, and rental apartments draw many budget visitors. For a luxury experience, head to the surrounding islands, where private resorts charge high prices for more amenities and larger rooms.
