  • The building from the outside is so beautiful! But the museum from the inside was not that interesting. Very much about wildlife and tribe people. Very old museum, but free entrance.
  • The museum has an interesting first floor dedicated to longhouses and a new and very interesting extension about the local culture. The ground floor is full of stuffed animals (sometimes painted, dust...  more »
  • The old building is stifling, as the a/c barely works. The exhibits are ancient. However, there is a brand-new building with fiere air conditioning wih some interestig exhibits. Don't miss it.

  • At the white building (Arts Museum) now is the exhibition "orang Sarawak". Very interesting and a must-see. Modern style exhibition: very good descriptions, video's in English (Bahasa subtitles), audio's in English and Bahasa and interactive maps. One of the pictures shows the floorplan and what to see. Takes 1-2 hours depending on interest. Free admission. Exhibition is wheelchair accessible! No aids however for blind or visually impaired.
  • Great little museum. It hasn't been updated in a while though but this actually adds to its charme. It is basically a crash course on Kuching/Sarawak as it has exhibits on both the animals of the island (it even has some of Alfred Wallace's collection) as well as the history of the place. It also has a lifesize model of a traditional Longhouse complete with real human skulls hanging over a fake fire.
  • The museum is an excellent place to learn about Sarawak, its people, culture and nature. Free entrance. Unfortunately, no pictures are allowed.
  • Needs to be updated. Nice colonial history and good to be preserved.
  • very important place of history in sarawak. hope the government can help to conserve this place
