Take a peaceful stroll along Kuching Esplanade, a neatly decorated promenade. Lined with colonial era buildings, the esplanade brings the town and the water together in a walkway dotted with many ornamental features. Notice the traditional mosaics along the pathway, representing Malaysian themes through intricate patterns. Vendors set up here throughout the day, so grab some authentic street food as you pass, and head to the main bazaar at the end of the path for a bustling, traditional shopping experience. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Kuching holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Kuching Esplanade and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Nice view of part of Kuching city, the Sarawak river and the DUN (state assembly hall). Day and night views of the venue are vast different as it's colorfully lighted at night. Some jogs along the riverbank while most people stroll to enjoy the view. There's water taxi ride across the river and cruise is available at certain times. Above average in terms of maintenance for cleanliness.
  • I 💓 Kuching. Nice place to have a walk and frolic around the shops and stalls and eventual faires and events. Not much to do on the other side but just cross the river with a boat man for 1 ringitt. Then come back.
  • This place is clean. The air is so fresh and it's a very good place to walk and enjoying free time.
  • Nice place to chill out and people watching
  • There is a stall selling souvenirs in a ridiculously low price. It's a nice place.
