Kubah National Park, Kuching

Categories: National Parks, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 160+ reviews on the web
Hike through the dense rainforest of Kubah National Park. There are a couple of trails to choose from, all of which are fairly difficult, so they may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. Trek the well-marked path to a stunning waterfall, where you can swim and rest for a while. Enjoy the fresh air, and spot many species of birds, lizards, and butterflies, as well as diverse trees and exotic flowers. Follow the trail to the frog pond, where you can observe more than a dozen frog species, or find one of the viewing stations and take in the spectacular surroundings. Wear comfortable shoes and bring lots of water, as it can get quite humid in this spacious nature reserve. By using our Kuching family vacation planner, you can arrange your visit to Kubah National Park and other attractions in Kuching.

  • I loved it at Kubah, it was so quiet and peaceful. We only saw a handful of other visitors. If you are wanting to see lots of wildlife, this is not the park for you. However, if you're not coming with...  read more »
  • My wife and I drove from Kuching out by scooter (less than 30 km, 45 minutes) in the Park. The ticket office is located directly at the entrance, there is also the HQ. The prices are more than OK, moreover, there were still a small briefing for the trails including a rough map of the nice gentleman at the desk. Since we are made at the entrance to a larger (vocal) Group of Chinese, we have decided to make the hike to the waterfall (main draw) for the first time back. Instead, we decided for a trail with a really beautiful vantage point in the middle of the road. CAUTION! The trail leads to the entire trail along a 2km long relatively steep, paved road. After a short time, we found the visibly exhausted Chinese which broke off the hike on nearly half of way to the part. Sometimes cars in one pass, I don't know whether you have to pay extra for it if you want to save yourself so the sharp rise in. All roads meet again more or less in the middle of the park so we decided after the first trail to approve a refreshment at the waterfall. The path to the waterfall takes a good half an hour and is truly not a walk. Arrived at the waterfall I was personally a little disappointed, because I found no bad place (despite the heavy rains of the previous days). Many people are simply under the waterfall to freshen up. I shot a few photos but beautiful waterfall and we headed back to the (tiring) way back. This time characteristic. Arrived on the asphalted road we were again soaking wet, from the refreshment was nothing to feel. The way back across the road, down the mountain became noticeable in our upper & lower legs noticeably. I was happy to sit back on the roller :D Personally, I would recommend the Baku National Park for nature-loving hikers rather. We've got to face wild animals such as monkeys or snakes, though we were sometimes the only one on the trails (apart from the waterfall).
