Kubah National Park, Kuching

4.3
#2 of 6 in Nature in Kuching
Hike through the dense rainforest of Kubah National Park. There are a couple of trails to choose from, all of which are fairly difficult, so they may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. Trek the well-marked path to a stunning waterfall, where you can swim and rest for a while. Enjoy the fresh air, and spot many species of birds, lizards, and butterflies, as well as diverse trees and exotic flowers. Follow the trail to the frog pond, where you can observe more than a dozen frog species, or find one of the viewing stations and take in the spectacular surroundings. Wear comfortable shoes and bring lots of water, as it can get quite humid in this spacious nature reserve. Our Kuching holiday planner makes visiting Kubah National Park and other Kuching attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

Not far from Kuchings there is a National Park to discover that infinitely more offers. Oban raves for waterfalls, to scurrilous jungle trees not tired look can or a sunrise over the Kuchingwettland it is the measure of all things, the Cuba National Park is the place for it. A special highlight is the frogging. Who is up in the morning/evening twilight with a flashlight at the frog pond has the opportunity to discover more than 20 frog species. Succeeded also already the author, to observe the flying frog.

Less known than and so less touristy than Bako Park and much more beautiful. A not too difficult trail (still quite difficult for non athletes) and other more strenuous trails. A must-see!

Great walk to the waterfall. Relatively easy and good views at the end. I'd recommend going in the morning to avoid the rain though as this would.make the path tricky, we only just made it!We saw some wildlife.. mostly birds and insects but also a pigmy squirrel and a banded palm civet cat!

The waterfall trail is the shortest among all the trails in Kubah National Park. Great for a day trip the entrance fee is 10MYR for adults. The hike is manageable although the hike back from the waterfall can be a little taxing because of the stairs. Nonetheless the waterfall is amazing and definitely worth the hike.

Where to stay in Kuching

The most popular area to stay in Kuching remains just south of the Sarawak River, where you can find affordable hotels offering basic but comfortable rooms. South of Jalan Main Bazaar, budget backpacker accommodations in the form of hostels and guesthouses draw many visitors with limited means. Consider the districts north of the river for more exclusive and resort-style alternatives.
