Categories: Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.3/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web
Immerse yourself in Malay culture at Rumah Penghulu Abu Seman, one of the oldest surviving Malay houses. True to Malay vernacular architecture, the house is made of dark wood and sits atop sound stilts with vented slats in the walls. Visitors can wander the interior on guided tours, or simply peek in from the outside. Below the house you'll spot a hand-carved canoe used in religious ceremonies with a bird's head carved into the prow. The tour kicks off with an informational video followed by the insight of a knowledgeable guide. Water, fans, and mosquito spray are all included with entrance--these items are considered necessities in the wilderness. • Located in the heart of city centre where surrounded by high rise building. A historical place where you can see the architecture of this place is built up many years back.
  • Traditional Malay house aged more than 100 years.
