Museum and Art Gallery BNM, Kuala Lumpur

(4.3/5 based on 160+ reviews on the web)
Eschew old historical architecture for the sleek complex of glass and titanium that houses Museum and Art Gallery BNM. The museum takes visitors on a journey through Malaysia's economic past and the bank's role in the nation's economic development. The art gallery underlines the bank's role as a patron of the arts, with over 1,500 contemporary pieces from all over the country spread out over six different thematic galleries. The museum includes a collection of ancient coins and money explained through multimedia displays, and also taps into the Islamic banking system and its compliance with Sharia Law. The museum and gallery have a special education area geared toward children, plus you'll find a coffee shop and gift shop on site. • We went very easily to the Museum in Uber and first took the time to eat at the Café on the ground floor of the magnificent building. Everything was good and priced just right. Then we started to visit. We went straight to the top floor to see the great exhibition of the works of Norma Abbas and then toured to all floors. So visited every floor on the way down. We have admired beautiful works, learned lots of interesting information about currencies and the economy in addition to learn much more about the Malaysia. In short, a must that honours KL.
