  • The view gets progressively more amazing, but so does the level of danger. Towards the final ascent, it is a steep climb, having to be on all fours. Pretty quick climb, and very nearby KL for a short ...  more »
  • I joined the group with the member who first met her, for all our turns easily into a familiar and help each other and giving spirit. We went up the Hill to Sow West, there are several areas of little danger but our mutual group keep and wait for more. The Hill away from the area near the Sow town, if not wrong from across a park area. Don't regret doing trekking in the hills of West and Sow all get new friends

  • I don't know whether it is devinitiev. As I was leaving but today the entrance with yellow tape was locked. And it was forbidden to go high. To do this it rained but also just 5 min. According to locals who also just high wanted (and ask: is there), the trail had been completely closed in due to the deaths. I have but no official information to do so. So be careful, you informed first if it is open!

  • (This is for the west peak only) YES you CAN die here. Check out the photo to see if you can handle it and the last part of this review for tips. In fact a local person I met here told me 2 died 2 months ago. Okay having said that it's not like you actually "rock climb". Maybe it used to be that way. Now there are cables and "steps" at most "one-step-away-from-your-death" spots. I actually foolishly tried rock climbing at one point cause I didn't see the cable. I came back down after briefly pondering on what would happen if I die here. I won't be found for months. It's cruel to my family and friends. So I came down. I'm traveling solo and this was a last minute impromptu. As for the permit, the local person said nobody cares maybe except on weekends. There was no one to check. But the fine is USD 2500. So yeah. I doubt even if you were caught they will really fine you that much. Maybe pay the official 50 bucks or something. You're in a third world country. Tips: So there are two routes up one from the east entrance another from the west entrance. If you are here to meet your destiny start at the east entrance. First 10 minutes will be easy peasy. You will laugh at all these people saying you can die here. The first peak which is the lowest has a great view of the city. Not much for the lake. The next two peaks are just stopovers. The fourth and fifth peaks are where you will be forced to reevaluate your life. Flashbacks will happen. Be very slow and careful. The fifth peak will give you a nice view of the lake. From here getting down is easy. You will exit through the west entrance. So if you just want the view and not ready yet to face your destiny just climb up from west.
  • Breathtaking views of the dam, the ridge and of KL. Not a difficilt climb but dont attempt it if you are not familiar. The quartz crumbles and some parts require some atheletic manouvers. Look for the shiny bits of quartz. Some chunks are huge. Go in a group & make sure your phone is fully charged.
  • It’s not a super difficult hike but also definitely not for a beginner to do alone. For most of the hike it's pretty safe as long as you're careful. There are a few sections near the end that require more caution as there aren't any ropes there for support. Great views! I went beyond the end, but that only eventually led to a rather steep vertical cliff! Tip: go early in the morning before it gets too hot. Don't go after a heavy rainfall as it'll be muddy and slippery.
  • Breathtaking views. Combination of hike and climb. You need to know what you are doing and be alert as you tackle the terrain. Always safety first.
  • Tough trail. If you are not fit enough, please don't go there risk your life. However, the view from the top is breathtaking. The ridge is very long so many entrance and trails can be accessed. You will see a reservoir on the top and snap a few nice photos.
