  • Tunku National Park made up of five islands, each island features a different. Sha Bi Island, located in the beautiful islands of the Indian Ocean, coconut trees, clear water with fine sandy beaches. Coral Reef is near the coast and is suitable for diving. • You can travel around one or more islands via ferrys, leaving from Jessleton Point. You pay at the port. Lifejackets provided. We tried the Zipline from Sapi, over to Gaya - tickets are 68 MYR (£12.00...  more »
  • In front of KK. All agencies organize day tours or more days at 5 islets in the Park. Yourself you can go to the pier where to buy tickets for the passage and return on one or more islands including the entrance to the Park and any other services like buffet lunch or overnight in alberghetti pubs (see the prices on the site). In the package are always including fins and snorkel snorkeling gear, hopefully there are also diving options. The most visited Islands are Manukan, largest with wide Beach and overnight accommodation and Sapi, nearby and with a small beach in front of a number of places to eat or drink anything. Rimini amusements classics available, banana tour, kite surfing, parasailing, etc. Sincerely advise against it all, too much crowd which gives a negative image of a place originally still nice. Mind you being a park there are everywhere fences beyond which it cannot go both at sea and ashore. Maybe it is better to choose the smallest Sulug that seems to be less crowded. It seems, however, that if you stop to sleep, when after six o'clock, the last boats took away every day, everything becomes more peaceful and livable. We had a package including the full day boat portages on the two islands, entrances, lunch buffet and transfer from the hotel for around 300 Myr apiece (Ooo Haa tour & Travel-Mr. David Lim-40 Main Bazar-Kuching) take a look at the site and ask for a quote, very reliable.

  • Place to relax. Buffet food is great. Fried chicken is the best.
  • Fabulous, a very nice places, good for snorkling, scuba diving, beautiful scene
  • Very good beach but not good public facilities...
  • Beautiful island but not as clean and pristine as 10 years ago when I last visited. Too many uncontrolled tourists. I have to tell a few off from throwing various kind of food to the fishes when there are signs that clearly say do not feed the fish.
  • Only 10-15mins boat ride from the jesselton point jetty. Suitable for daytrip get-away from busy city life. But the rubbish at the sea&beaches, the poor boat services and the touts at the jetty. Coral conservation effort is poor. All these have destroyed these beautiful islands. Not worthy for hardcore snorkellers/divers.

Where to stay in Kota Kinabalu

In the area of Sepanggar you'll find the main set of hotels, ranging from simple and mid-priced, to the more luxurious with good sea views. Move away from the coast for more space and privacy in resort-style hotels, which offer a range of facilities and comfortable, sometimes quirky rooms and apartments. Farther out still, you'll find backpacker motels, giving easy access to the surrounding natural attractions that, after all, are the primary reason for being here.
