#6 of 7 in Childrens Museums in Malaysia
Science Museum Specialty Museum
Learn about marine life at Marine Aquarium and Museum, a cultural institution showcasing different aquatic ecosystems and their inhabitants. With a good collection of creatures and plants displayed in natural-looking tanks--including sea turtles, mangroves, and tropical fish--the facility offers a particularly good option for younger visitors, who may be unable to explore the island's underwater areas in the wild. The site offers a wealth of information panels and interactive experiences. The facility is linked to the local university, as it is a leading research facility detailing different ecosystems, the dangers they face, and what can be done to protect them. Put Marine Aquarium and Museum and other Kota Kinabalu attractions into our Kota Kinabalu vacation route planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • It's a small and simple museum with around 6 to 8 aquarium only. Anyway it has a big aquarium to view the fish clearly. Good for children. Entrance fee is cheap too.  more »
  • Through the front door of the University campus, while the taxi went down. Taxi drivers plan to go on for a long time and you also talk that housed the entrance fee and the moment we realized that it was a big mistake. You will see all three ends of the Aquarium. Though the Interior is a very cool air conditioning or cool hot out of the cracked open does help. People rarely look back trying to get the city to slow down the inside because I'm no incoming taxi. Staff walked out while riding the bus asked, "Oh said. We came to ride in a taxi when it comes to longing ". I'd call a taxi by phone and call a taxi, thankfully. Have to wait 20 minutes to talk I'd come. The one outside in the Sun for hours waiting for the body seems very mature. It's by passing the taxis come here 20 minutes was able to escape. They tend to be smaller than I thought they would see not abundant. Minimum time toured college campuses mean unless you're planning to remain here until you need to access to?.

  • Small aquarium but well worth a visit. There is a touch tank to let the kids feel some of the sea creatures. Costs only rm10 for adults to enter.
  • A small aquarium. But the fish and turtle are adorable. Have fun.
  • Wonderful educational experience. Wheelchair friendly.
  • There are only two big aquarium. The place itself only one building.
  • This aquarium is a non profitable facility by the Borneo Marine Research Institute. Despite having a rather small size, the museum do have plenty to offer. Seeing the green turtle swimming happily in the tank is how most marine science students of the university spend their time between classes as it is very calming.

In the area of Sepanggar you'll find the main set of hotels, ranging from simple and mid-priced, to the more luxurious with good sea views. Move away from the coast for more space and privacy in resort-style hotels, which offer a range of facilities and comfortable, sometimes quirky rooms and apartments. Farther out still, you'll find backpacker motels, giving easy access to the surrounding natural attractions that, after all, are the primary reason for being here.
