  • In addition to cooked food, there are also selling vegetables, meat, seafood, so there is a very concentrated market flavor, plus a lot of selling roasted chicken wings of the store, oil smoke a lot, to stroll remember not to wear too good clothes.

  • I saw the world biggest lobster here. U only have to name the seafood, and you will find it here. I order some scallops and fish to takeaway. I don't know why it took so long to make but it was worth ...  more »
  • This is mainly to hear that roasted chicken wings are delicious, after walking, found a lot of stalls have, basically as the choice seems to be similar to the side there are a lot of snacks in the ground, bought a look delicious vegetable fried cake, only 2 coins, brought back to the restaurant after feeling very fond of

  • Good place to buy local handicrafts, pearl products and seafood products. Reasonable and affordable price but need to be aware of the dishonest seller. Make several comparisons before buying the products. You may bargain the price. There were lots of food to eat but be aware of their cleanliness. Most of the food seller didnt pay much attention to the cleanliness. Look around and carefully choose the clean ones! The place is crowded. Be aware of pick pockets. Protect yourself, your family members and your personal belongings. Bring suitable bags and keep it close to your body. Hold hands to avoid losing your partner and family. Enjoy your holiday!
  • Tourist Tip: 1. Please DON'T walk around in your bikinis. This is a muslim country. 2. Please DON'T drag around your luggage in the market. 3. Please DON'T give any money to the street kids. They are a product of child trafficking. 4. Please DON'T buy from an unknown source. 5. Please DON'T buy shells, seahorse or any type of sea creatures. Help us stop overfishing and overuse ocean resource. Buy a painting instead.
  • More for local handicraft necklace wristband or brass bangles. Scarf and many more types. For frequent traveller like us this is norm for us. It is very narrow and compact set up with many shops selling homigenious items.
  • A very good place to shop for souvenirs. Need to carefully choose food stalls that suits our peninsular Malaysia palates and clean ones. Actually found a stall offers good food but family got food poisoning the next day after eating lobsters bought at the other stall
  • Great for visiting with a lot of stalls selling roughly the same thing. Popular for its chicken wings and seafood. Take note that there are a lot of children beggars and once you give a few cents to one child many more will swap around you asking for more. Giving money is discouraged but up to you. Otherwise an big market to walk around.

Where to stay in Kota Kinabalu

In the area of Sepanggar you'll find the main set of hotels, ranging from simple and mid-priced, to the more luxurious with good sea views. Move away from the coast for more space and privacy in resort-style hotels, which offer a range of facilities and comfortable, sometimes quirky rooms and apartments. Farther out still, you'll find backpacker motels, giving easy access to the surrounding natural attractions that, after all, are the primary reason for being here.
