Where to stay in Ipoh

The main concentration of lodgings in Ipoh currently cluster in the newly developed sections of town. Beware of a proliferation of hotels in Ipoh attributing generous stars to their names--a practice that doesn't necessarily reflect the quality of some of the establishments. Do your research in advance to avoid disappointment. The range of available options is huge, with several Ipoh hotels catering to different budgetary needs. The luxury hotels here often have annexed spa and wellness treatment centers.

  • Very quite, felt like no one was there. I heard there was an argument between the temple and the people living near there. Went there least then an hour, I heard there is a beautiful scenery but was disappointed case I saw nothing worth my time.
  • Entrance fee was RM6 per person. The air was cool and refreshing as the place was surrounded by hills, had a large pond and the day itself wasn’t hot. Bicycles were everywhere and you could grab any available one to ride for free. Walking up the trail was interesting as there were many old exhibits, antiques, olden day shops along the trail. There were several colourful chalets for rental near the exit. Certainly, a great place to visit.
  • The village itself displays the old Ipoh and Malaysian Chinese culture very well through its art work and paintings, it's also got a very beautiful hilly setting there, totally recommended.
  • Peaceful, Beautiful, relaxing, unique. Part Buddhist temple, part park, part muzium all enclosed in limestone hills. Trinkets are available for sale, option to choose to walk the area or cycle. Look out for pirates of carribean ship and family of dinosaurs on top of hill past memory lane hill. Lots of photo opportunities as lots of unique paintings (some of them are interactive/able to interact with). Worth a visit.
  • Place is closed down without any signs!!! Wasted time going there!
