Cave · Religious Site
Step inside Perak Tong Cave Temple to discover giant Buddha statues, Taoist idols, and paintings daubed on the walls among the craggy limestone formations. At the back of the temple chamber, climb a steep set of 246 winding steps, which lead to an open cave offering sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. At the temple entrance, admire the colorful Chinese architecture and the tranquil Japanese pond, home to carp and turtles, which represent longevity. Monks and nuns still reside in this cave, discovered by a Chinese monk in 1890. • Nice place to visit when go to Ipoh. Natural caves, first time here. The caves are impressive and peaceful.  more »
  • The surrounds of the temple is well kept. Loved our walkabout as we get to see the deity statues all around and the ponds.  more »
  • Didn't realize that there was a hike up, which offers excellent views of the surrounding areas. The cave is super cooling and many shrines in it. Worth going!  more »

  • Not a very big place but good for a visit. Rocks formation is so so. Be in casual gear in case you want to hike up to the top. Steep slopes with rugged steps but proper. Breathtaking view at the peak
  • This is a very interesting and beautiful temple. Really interesting to look at all of the religious decor and the natural structures. We enjoyed spending time looking around here. Try to get there before 4 PM so you can climb the stairs inside the tunnel. There are no fees here.
  • Very impressive temple. If you are strong enough, you can climb the stairs and reach the top of the hill to enjoy a nice view. There is no entrance fee but you can prepare a bit of money if you come with a car (you can give whatever you want to the guy taking care of the parking) and also for donations (these are not mandatory but you will be gently asked if you can donate something).
  • Interesting enough for a short visit. The view from the top is very nice. The stairs to the top are kind of hidden behind the building that is half way up on the outside.
  • Well run and maintained temple in a cave. Nice view from the top too. Just wished there was no one taking advantage of visitors and soliciting carpark money.
