Where to stay in George Town

As an established tourist destination, George Town offers a range of options making use of the city's famous architectural diversity, with boutique hotels in the old town themed around the history of the building they occupy. For such singular accommodations, expect to pay a little more. Budget hotels and unbranded local options provide a comfortable night sleep at an affordable rate. The coastal areas offer more expensive resort-style luxury rooms with sea views, while away from the beaten track, you'll find backpacker hostels providing good options for those wanting to keep on the move.

  • Very nice for taking photos. Very helpfull staffs. They guided and helped to take photos of us.
  • It is quite interactive and a lot of detail into presenting each work of art. Spectacular! It could be better maintained but anyhow, it is pretty impressive.
  • It is a nice place to visit when it is not weekend or school holidays. You can have the whole place to yourself and you do not need to queue to take the 3D picture. The staff assisting is very helpful.. because we are the inly visitor. The only set back is during the entrance the staff asked us to have a group picture and when we were exiting they are a bit pushy in asking us to buy the foto.
  • Except for a couple of rooms on the ground floor this cannot be called a museum. However, it was entertaining to pose for pictures and even more to see the pictures. It was a nice break from the heat outside.
  • 5% history, 95% trick art to take your photo with. There are several places like this in Georgetown. Once you've done one the rest are boring. 15 ringgit for adults, 10 for kids. Good vegan snack stand out front though. Cheap too.
