Enjoy the ornamental architecture of Khoo Kongsi, a Chinese clanhouse in George Town's World Heritage-listed area. The Khoo Kongsi clan of wealthy Chinese traders constructed the complex in stages beginning in the 17th century. Today the complex features an ornate and elaborate association building, a traditional theater, and late 19th-century rowhouses. The protected buildings represent good examples of Chinese design, and guided tours elucidate the culture of the clan, their influence on the area, and the history of the clanhouse itself. • While not very big, the clan house is simply wonderful thanks to the excellent restauration job and the enormous amount of details to watch out for. Best 10 RM spent so far :) !
  • A must visit for tourists visiting Penang. Great architecture and there is a museum/exhibit inside the clanhouse as well. Free access for those who bear the last name "Khoo"
  • Elaborate and definitely worth the time spent. You'll take a couple of hours to truly appreciate the history that are engraved on the walls and carvings on the buildings. There's a light up for every last Saturday of the month. Perfect evening to be spent here listening to operas and enjoying the light up.
  • This is the place where you can find all the ancestors and information from Khoo Kongsi Family. I love all the design and architecture of this small village.
  • It is a must go in Penang! The building is amazing and it is recently being renovated. The entry ticket is RM10 per person. In fact, I found that there are two shops selling tickets, one shop is just at the entrance and the other shop is along the Acheh street. If you happened to be a local student with student card, go to the shop at the Acheh street and you will get student discount price at only RM1 per person. The other shop near the entrance is only going to give you student price if you guys are in a student group with teacher came along, I am not sure why though.
