Cannon Street, George Town

(4.2/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
Walk along Cannon Street to see a crater caused by the impact of a cannon shot fired by government troops during the Penang riots of 1867. A wrought-iron diorama shows a rickshaw unable to cross the large hole. Along the street you can find ornate temples, coffee shops, and various small boutiques, many housed in colonial-era buildings. Lots of interesting street art and graffiti decorate this historical area. • It's a nice, pleasant to walk both day and night. There is a nice Chinese temple on the corner, craft shops and murals. Deserves.
