  • A small little place where you will only spend about 10-15 minutes. Entrance fee is a donation amount of your choice. Was great for the kids to be able to see the turtles up close but would have appre...  more »
  • Small smelly pools for the turtles, we felt uncomfortable there and only stayed around 15 minutes. Coming from NZ we are used to seeing captive animals in better conditions.  more »
  • The staffs were friendly and they have huge knowledge on turtle. Very interesting place. A lot of things regarding turtle you can learn here. Very good for children's education.  more »

  • Probably under-funded, not well maintained and pretty much a look, see and leave kind of information centre. Nothing interactive and no one to help guide/educate visitors. Effort is honourable but I just cannot believe that this cannot be improved. The actual conservation efforts might be doing ok but even then, I did not get to know how many eggs were hatched from the place and since when nor other info on efforts spearheaded by the centre... Sometimes, it just takes a gathering of passionate minds to make great things happen. Sad...
  • Must preserve endangered turtles. For our future generation. For the.ecosystem. Very informative place. The baby turtles are so.cute.
  • Good place to bring children to learn more about sea turtles and their habitats
  • Good to see the turtles. But they were kept with minimum care possible. The water is dirty. Baby turtles fighting each other. I saw one of them is dead and others are biting the dead to get meat from it.
  • One of the good practices are adopted for turtle conservation.

Where to stay in Cherating

Various other small resorts vie with Club Med for guests who prefer amenities, while backpackers generally stick to simple guesthouses and small hotels. Most options sit close to the town's beach and main collection of bars, but a few small resorts occupy quieter environs. The village houses plenty of affordable guesthouses, though be aware that if you’re here to surf in monsoon season, they will fill up quickly. Midrange accommodation fills up on weekends year-round, so book ahead in these instances.
