Mossy Forest, Brinchang

4.1
#1 of 52 in Parks in Pahang
A walk through Mossy Forest reveals a chilly, misty landscape with an otherworldly atmosphere. Existing only at high elevations, where the land is permanently covered in low-level clouds, mist, and moisture, this rainforest of ferns, moss, lichen, and orchids supports a variety of creatures, including snakes, frogs, birds, and mammals. Stick to the wooden walkway as it bends around the landscape, and snap atmospheric photos of the thick grey mist hugging low-hanging vines. Hold on to the safety rope as the path is slippery when wet. Plan your visit to Mossy Forest and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Cameron Highlands trip planner .

  • It runs nice small Moss forest on wooden planks. The way up went an adventure with our rental car up. Of course, not a Land Rover. Went already. Compensate the views.

  • As it is a tourist attraction the road to the mossy forest should be wider and proper. Only 1 car can go at one time. Don't wait for fatality to happen before the road is upgraded. You want tourist money but do not care about their safety.
  • Although road is closed until Feb 2018 and bit dodgy, you can still park your car before closure sign and walk up ~20 mins. Renovations are happening, but you can walk past builders anyway and look at first part of the boardwalk. Still well worth it I would say, but be prepared to ignore a lot of 'no-entry' signs.
  • The moment i came here, got notice said it close from November till end of January due to monsoon season and maintenance routine. Yeah i feel meh, but since no one was here that day, i just breaking the rule. Im sorry guys since i already reach here. I enter with precaution on my surrounding for my own safety. Love the view, the wind blow so hard and its raining. Be careful on your step during wet day. I not go too deep so i must come to Mossy Forest again when it open for public.
  • Road to forest so badly maintained by the local authorities that our taxi front wheel fell through the only two supporting metal grill that buckled ! Forest yielded to me an amazing Malaysia smallest orb spider 0.6 mm and a very small wasp on a flower . Picture of tiny spider is with 2x macro . Good to visit on a less busy day like midweek with less visitors .!
  • For all you nature lovers, this is paradise! I went there during the monsoon season acouple of weeks back and boy, the scenaria leaves me speechless. It's as if you're elsewhere. If you're a Star Wars fan, it's kinda like Dagobah mixed with Endor. But mind you, the risk is on you. Slippery roads. Not recommended if you were to drive up with a sedan/sports car/mpv tho. What we did was we drove half way and hiked about 40 mins to the top
