Its main feature remains the impressive seven-story pagoda and its 10,000 alabaster and bronze statues of Buddha. The ample grounds include separate areas of relaxation and contemplation, with pools, ponds, and well-maintained, peaceful gardens. • This is a great Temple. Free to enter for the main sites and lots of great colours and sights while you are there. It is well worth taking the lift to the top of the temple and catching the view from the top. You should also walk up the pagoda as it also has great vistas from the top. Both of these extra activities however incur a cost, but not too much. Give yourself several hours to see it all. Take water if it is a hot day.
  • A visited the temple on Chinese New Year celebration ,how amazing place! The view is breathtaking, the colours are mesmerising and the crowds going up and down just made your head spinning. But apart of that the multitude Buda's statue which you can admire in all parts of the temple ,the architecture which is unique ,and the feeling of spirituality made you come back again and again. I found out the monks held yoga clases, music clases and meditation clases. Apart of the gift shops ,been a soll with free spiritual books which you could own in exchange of a donation, with a small request after you read it to pass it to another reader. How nice can be that!
  • Kek Lok So temple is famous. Everyone will ask you if you been to Penang, whether you had been to this temple. Situated right up the hill, you almost feel that you are near the clouds. I came on Vesak day. Would suggest you go Penang Hill first (go as early as possible to avoid queues) then make your down to Kek Lok Si Temple. I went on foot and it doesnt take very long. Look for the signage of the school and pass by the row of vendors selling souvenirs of Penang. The place is free. Only you need to pay RM 2 to visit the pagoda. Worth it I would say since it offers a top of the hill view. Boosts a mini garden as well. Alot of scenic spots and places where you can take photographs. After your visit, go to try the famous old Assam Laksa at Air Itam market. You wont regret.
  • It's always expanding. Come during Chinese new year, it's very beautiful. But you need to have a lot of patience, because the road to this temple is always congested.
  • Very big and interested Chinese temple in Penang. The area is very big and they working all the time on new buildings. Place is very easy to reach by local bus and it's free entrance (You can only pay for elevator to statue, but you can walk there for free). In my opinion this temple is must to see in Penang.
