Kek Lok Si Temple, Air Itam

Visit Kek Lok Si Temple, the largest Buddhist complex in Malaysia. Established at its hilltop location in 1891, the temple harmoniously combines architectural influences from across the region. Its main feature remains the impressive seven-story pagoda and its 10,000 alabaster and bronze statues of Buddha. The ample grounds include separate areas of relaxation and contemplation, with pools, ponds, and well-maintained, peaceful gardens. A venerated place of worship, the temple attracts pilgrims from across Southeast Asia and beyond. • Great temple with enormous statues! Entrance fee for some sites is just RM3 as a donation for the temple's maintenance. Souvenir shops are also available on each level. It is recommended to visit the place early in the morning or late in the afternoon as the weather is quite hot. There is no strict policy about the clothing but just wear decent clothes as a form of respect. 😊
  • This is a great Temple. Free to enter for the main sites and lots of great colours and sights while you are there. It is well worth taking the lift to the top of the temple and catching the view from the top. You should also walk up the pagoda as it also has great vistas from the top. Both of these extra activities however incur a cost, but not too much. Give yourself several hours to see it all. Take water if it is a hot day.
  • Beautiful temple in Penang. Good details. Entrance of 3RM for the inclined lift one way.
  • Huge statue of guan yin here, two ways trip up costs 6rm for adults, many zodiac animals to take picture with at the top. A fun experience! :)
  • Typical tourist spot. Chinese temple. One of the largest one
