Lilongwe Wildlife Centre, Lilongwe

3.8
See the rehabilitation center for Malawi’s injured, orphaned, and rescued wildlife at Lilongwe Wildlife Centre. Malawi’s only accredited wildlife sanctuary, the complex provides a home for around 200 wild animals annually. Encounter reptiles, primates, and carnivores, many of which were rescued as orphans and victims of the illegal pet and bushmeat trade. Take an organized tour and listen to a professional guide, who will explain how one of the world's poorest nations goes about its efforts to conserve its natural resources. • We did not go in the reserve but only had food and coffee in the garden. Its very trendy place with nice smoothies and coffees.  more »

  • Nice atmosphere and good food. The Managers took their time to go around and personally greet everyone, which was a nice Touch. I was there on a Sunday where they had live Band playing. Only Suggestion for that is to play more local music and not old Covers.
  • Jungle within the town.....best place for kids ...they have a nature walk ...nice restaurant... amphitheatre....swings etc.
  • Great, short walk through the wildlife centre for about 4000. The guide was kind and full of information about the animals during our approx. one-hour walk. It'll just be luck if you come when they have more animals around to see. Animals do come and go for different reasons. Check out the Fusion cafe inside for coffee, free WiFi, and friendly owner.
  • I went directly to the cafe for drinks and lunch, and oh my, it’s worth the trip. It’s fine just to come and get drinks or coffee to enjoy the scenery, and I hear the smoothies are especially good. There are a number of vegetarian options, nice to me, but truly an extensive and varied menu. Everything we ordered was excellent.
  • This review is the café at the reserve rather than the reserve itself. It serves varied and interesting drinks and snacks in a beautiful garden atmosphere, a tiered leafy open-air area hung with pastel bunting. A little on the expensive side but served with warmth. Not suitable for those who can't manage steps.
