  • Despite the long journey on bad roads going to Tsingy, it was totally worth it. Right after lunch from Belo, we waited for other tourists heading to Bekopaka. We were escorted by military men as there...  more »
  • I only visited the Grand Tyingy. There are different hiking trails with different duration and level of ambition. I chose the way Andamozavaky. You can combine the trail with two other hiking trails - that's the Grand Tour - but it should take 10h. Admission costs 55,000 acres. The prices for the guides are not without: 1-4 persons/ day 135,000/ half day 75,000 ar. In addition, there are 5000 acres for the municipality. Luckily I was able to share the tour with other tourists. To the starting point of the tour we drive about 1h. The tour starts with a hike through the forest - there we see the sportife Lemur, Sifakas and brown Lemuren. Afterwards, the climbing game starts over the rock pins - over ladders, with safety belt along rock pins, over the well-known suspension bridge, through grottoes... We always reach viewpoints - breathtaking. I haven't seen anything like it before. Afterwards we head for lunch in the direction of the cathedral. After 4 h the tour is over. Overall, you don't have to be a climbing expert or extremely sporty. Nevertheless, the tour was exhausting - due to the warmth. Some Touris had booked the Grand Tsingy Tour - the first stage was over for them by 2 p.m. - and they still had two hiking trails ahead of them. I was glad not to have booked the big tour. We didn't do the petit Tsingy Tour anymore. We have been discouraged from doing so because it is probably not so spectacular.

  • We spent 3 nights at Le Soleil des Tsingy and went to the Small Tsingy the first day and the Big Tsingy the second day. We enjoyed both but if you only have 1 day, definitely go for the Big Tsingy. We...  more »

  • The big Tsingy is a wonderful hiking experience. In the dry season be prepared for overhead sun with little to no shade. You will likely be given a harness upon arrival, which will be needed when climbing. A good level of fitness is required for the hike/climb, which requires you to slip through tight spaces and walk near steep drops. Not for the vertigo-prone. Expect to spend around 5 hours hiking. Near the edge of the reserve is a more forested area with many species of lemurs and birds-perfect for the enthusiast. But I would recommend against bringing an expensive camera as it is most certainly going to get damaged. Remember to bring plenty of fluids and food, and to always wear your harness when guidelines are present for it. The trails in the tsingy are clearly marked with both km signs and spray painted rocks
  • Stunning part of Madagascar with great hiking.
  • Amazing and safely!
  • Breathtaking
  • Natural Park which is well worth a visit. We must organize at least one full day and have a proper equipment because the above lineups (famously pointed and sharp) requires suitable systems. The guides normally have equipment for hire. Take water during the warmer months.
