Lemurs' Park, Antananarivo

Meet some of Madagascar's lemur population at Lemurs' Park, a rehabilitation and release center for many species of this endangered creature. Providing sanctuary to numerous confiscated lemur pets, the reserve sits within a lush botanical garden, where pine forests shelter some 70 species of endemic plants. Take a guided tour below the canopies to learn the stories of each lemur, and stop at the vivarium for an up-close look at the resident chameleons, tortoises, and iguanas. An onsite cafeteria provides welcome respite from the heat of the day. • Close to the nature with a nice tour guide with good English. You can see many different species and a nice garden. If you like the nature it definitely worth to visit the park. It’s about 45 minutes from Antananarivo.
  • Beautiful nature. Face to face with rare animals in their natural habitat preserved and maintained by man. A must visit if you ever make it to Madagascar.
  • Lemurs rescued from being held as pets and bred in the park - 6 diurnal species not afraid of people, coming close, very fun to watch. There are also nocturnal lemurs but impossible to see them as they are sleeping somewhere and there are no night walks offered. Great to know that nocturnal lemurs are no longer in cages as previous reviews suggested. The park is very professional - no lemur feeding or touching allowed, guide was very nice, knowledgeable and with good English, and they even brought big umbrellas when it started raining. Super recommended even if you saw lemurs in the wild before!
  • Excellent guided tours of this park which contains six different species of Lemurs. In addition there are a lot of plants and other animals in the park like tortoises and chameleons. The guides are very knowledgeable and well versed in multiple languages. The animals seem to be well cared for and are not in cages atypical of a zoo experience. During my visit I was able to see a baby lemur with its family in October.
  • Has so many species of Lemurs, great information from English speaking guides. Really helpful
