Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web
Transport yourself centuries back in time at Chateau de Vianden, a medieval fortress and palace dating back to the 14th century. Before you enter, notice the guard towers--one white and one black--flanking the main structure. Walk through a total of five gates, including a drawbridge and a descending grid. Afterward, you'll come to the little palace, where you can see the armory and Byzantine hall with its beautiful trefoil windows. Next, find the great palace, the largest section of the castle, featuring a knights' hall. Perhaps the most significant section, however, is the Romanesque-style chapel, which boasts two floors with an opening in the middle and balconies for the nobles. • Beautiful reconstruction of the medieval castle on the basis of ruins, the city has made a nice space stroll and visit but this rehabilitation is really visible let imagination take over to send to not not this renovation work and the remeublement more or less successful attempt. But let's keep our child's soul and, a castle is a castle, and we have a young and beautiful Knights in search of beautiful princesses to save close eyes - it's perfect - don't change anything - you're there!

  • Stunning views and wonderful scenery. Everywhere was so clean and peaceful well worth a trip to the town of Vianda
  • very nice place with great nature. they have cheap tickets for entrance. very good caffe and restaurant inside the complex.
  • A fantastic place to wander around, even if most of the castle has been restored. The audio guide if a definite must, makes the most out of the visit. The UK could definitely learn something from luxembourg when it comes to pricing it's entrance prices.
  • A must-see in Luxembourg but the tour seems outdated. Definitely not friendly to mobility-impaired or elderly visitors...anyone fitting that description will have a very difficult time. Also don't bring a stroller...lots of steps and rugged cobblestones. The castle is good shape, but has been updated and modernized so many times over the years that it doesn't have much of a "castley" feeling. I prefer Bourscheid castle over this one. The town of Vianden though is lovely. Go there during Christmas or for the amazing annual Nut Festival.
  • Fantastic castle. Wish it had a shuttle service since it's a steep climb up to the top!
  • Nice castle, cheap entrance. Don't forget to buy the audioguide also, makes the visit much better.
  • A really nice castle with a nice view trough the town. Definitely worth to see it, because it provides a well made view of the castles in the old age.
