Once a parade ground for troops, Place d'Armes today sits as a gathering place for city residents. Stately architectural gems border the square, including the municipal palace, known as the Cercle. You'll recognize the building for the three arches over its entry and top-floor windows, as well as a relief depicting the Charter of Emancipation, when Countess Ermesinde granted freedoms and duties to nobility for the people of Luxembourg. A marketplace area hosts people every year and offers a broad selection of handcrafted goods and tasty treats. No matter what time of year you visit, take time to indulge in the cafe culture here. • Very nice place to chill out. There are amazing restaurants, bars and even there is a free symphony orchestre concert
  • A nice cosy square with a lot of good restaurants and some take aways as well. Live music on a stage takes place several times during the day. Also you might find travelling artists performing.
  • This is definitely the best place in Luxembourg to people watch, dine and enjoy free concerts, all at the same time!
