Rockhal, Esch-sur-Alzette

#1 of 11 in Things to do in Esch-sur-Alzette
Situated on a former industrial site, Rockhal covers all things rock music, from production to its performance. The main hall's 6,500-seat capacity hosts rock bands, such as Korn and Prodigy. A smaller venue, called the Club, which holds just over 1,000 people, hosts bands that aren't as well known but who can still rock out with a decent crowd. Up-and-coming bands also find a home in the Rockhalcafe, where acts on a small stage keep you entertained while you chow down on some classic pub food. Visit the attraction's website for a calendar of events and to purchase tickets. Big-name bands sell out fast, so buy tickets early, but you can grab a ticket for smaller shows from the box office when you arrive. • We were here for the concert of Walk of the Earth. I guess they only opened the small concert hall, because we were standing very close to the stage even though we arrived late. Everything was availab...  more »
  • Well organised concert hall. Food and drinks available most nights. Too crowded when both halls (the great hall and the box) are full. Sound is generally good unless the sound engineer screws up. Super close to the train station. Super easy to get there and back from Luxembourg City. Also, they have very big names and less known artists who play there. The sonic visions festival is great to discover new talents.
  • Great venue. Easy access via 60 train, which is free with show ticket. Food is not the best (avoid sausage from stall outside) and it can get pretty warm in the crowd (more AC please?) Anyways not bad for a small country!
  • Sometimes very annoying security at the entrance. Sound quality depends on the concert, the location has no flair. However, the infrastructure is great with good parking options and public transport.
  • Enough space, good parking opportunities and your typical luxembourgish price politics... The building itself is ugly and has a cold atmosphere and no charme at all due to the overuse of concrete.
  • The best place for a concert. Acoustic of this building is awesome. Luxembourg is a pretty small country. That's why this location is perfect to see your favorite artist here. The crowd will never be like in other major cities.
