Vilnius TV Tower, Vilnius

(4/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
As the tallest building in the country, Vilnius TV Tower offers unrivaled views and holds a memorial for those who died in 1991 resisting Soviet troops. Standing more than 326 m (1,071 ft) tall (with its antenna included), the tower rises above Vilnius, forming a notable piece of its skyline. Ascend via elevator to the observation platform; from here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city and its surroundings, or get a drink or bite to eat at the tower's cafe. The entire platform makes a complete revolution once every hour. Don't miss the museum on the ground floor, dedicated to the 14 Lithuanian civilians killed in their attempts to blockade Soviet forces in 1991 and defend their country's newly asserted independence. • If you can visit here after sunset you get amazing views across the lit city. When we visited it was snowing which was an added bonus! The restaurant at the top is nothing special but good for snacks ...  more »
  • It was interesting to get to the Tower, where the heritage of the Soviet Baltic spared nothing with the same as in Ostankino, a rotating restaurant. Getting there is not easy because the entire area around the winter fenced in connection with the incident at the top of the Tower of snow. Had to propetljat' and through an underground tunnel to get inside. Inside it was the times of 80s towers built, souvenirs and ticket sales at the box office, ticket cost 6 € you get a lift on 19 floor in the restaurant, and there already decide just to resemble a look in Windows through the Diners head visitors or stand on several inspection between tables, which are located around the perimeter. We decided to have lunch and sat at one of the free tables. Restaurant makes a turnover on a circle for about 55 minutes, so sitting in one place, you can see the entire city within a radius of 50 km from the tower with a height of about 165 feet away. We were pleased with the atmosphere of the restaurant, live music, piano, very friendly waiters and dishes just yummy, though the menu is not large, but all very friendly and familiar. There are menus in three languages. The only thing that slightly marred the impression this is terribly dirty Windows you anyway you look most of the time.

  • A good place. At least once go is worth. Interesting to see the city from a height. Like are you traveling every day in Vilnius and everything in it, you know. and bird is always something new. Go to the tower is better in good weather. The average kitchen. The service is good. The prices are a little higher than average. Honestly, in Vilnius this unusual place. It can be said only in this way could and strain and do everything at the highest level. But, as is so it is.

  • Definitelly worth visiting! A great restaurant up there. I recommend especially if you choose to walk there instead travelling by a car or taxi. If so, you will have to pass a quite part of the surrounding forrest with extra attractions like climbing the cliffs, but it will be unforgettable experience :)
  • The view is stunning! Its really worth the money goin up there. Have a drink and watch the city spinning slowly. I love this place!
  • Absolutely superb! Fantastic views across the city and the food in the restaurant is excellent. This was the highlight of my week long trip. I will go back and take friends and family. ***Please note the TV tower opens at 11am but the restaurant opens at 1pm. *** Lastly, I have noted a few instances in Vilnius where venues have not been signposted very well. The TV tower was one of those instances. Currently (June 2016) you must go past the old overland entrance, down some stairs, turn right, through the glass doors and through a tunnel to get to the ticket office. VILNIUS, SIGNPOST YOUR TOURIST ATTRACTIONS PROPERLY!
  • Great view, good service, good food, moderate prices, relax sit back and enjoy
  • On the day we visited, there were loads of kids running around and screaming as if their life was in danger. Needless to say, it spoiled our experience.
