Vilnius TV Tower, Vilnius
(4/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
As the tallest building in the country, Vilnius TV Tower offers unrivaled views and holds a memorial for those who died in 1991 resisting Soviet troops. Standing more than 326 m (1,071 ft) tall (with its antenna included), the tower rises above Vilnius, forming a notable piece of its skyline. Ascend via elevator to the observation platform; from here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city and its surroundings, or get a drink or bite to eat at the tower's cafe. The entire platform makes a complete revolution once every hour. Don't miss the museum on the ground floor, dedicated to the 14 Lithuanian civilians killed in their attempts to blockade Soviet forces in 1991 and defend their country's newly asserted independence. • Climb the Vilnius tv tower is best on a clear day, when the weather changes frequently, go on a sunny day, and then everything will suddenly prolonged clouds (as in our case). To get to the Tower from the city centre by trolleybus No. 1 or 3. Climb the observation deck is charged-6 euro for adults, 2.6 euro-children. Work routine with 11 am until 21-22 hours. About the tower itself. It is the tallest building in Lithuania, built 35 years ago. In addition to the observation platform there are panoramic, revolving restaurant (were not). Review in fine clear weather-an impressive, highly sit far away look. There is a small museum dedicated to the struggle for Lithuanian independence from the Soviet Union. In General, you can visit, if everyone else had already seen in Vilnius. I ponravilo' moderately, mainly due to unneeded review (November is not the best time of the year).

  • Located outside the city this very high tower (slightly exceeds the Eiffel) is now a place must to the Lithuanian people who remember the tragedy of ' 91 when fourteen unarmed citizens were crushed by Soviet tanks. Not to be missed. There is also a panoramic restaurant "swivel" but I have not tried it, too bad.

  • Definitelly worth visiting! A great restaurant up there. I recommend especially if you choose to walk there instead travelling by a car or taxi. If so, you will have to pass a quite part of the surrounding forrest with extra attractions like climbing the cliffs, but it will be unforgettable experience :)
  • The view is stunning! Its really worth the money goin up there. Have a drink and watch the city spinning slowly. I love this place!
  • Absolutely superb! Fantastic views across the city and the food in the restaurant is excellent. This was the highlight of my week long trip. I will go back and take friends and family. ***Please note the TV tower opens at 11am but the restaurant opens at 1pm. *** Lastly, I have noted a few instances in Vilnius where venues have not been signposted very well. The TV tower was one of those instances. Currently (June 2016) you must go past the old overland entrance, down some stairs, turn right, through the glass doors and through a tunnel to get to the ticket office. VILNIUS, SIGNPOST YOUR TOURIST ATTRACTIONS PROPERLY!
  • Great view, good service, good food, moderate prices, relax sit back and enjoy
  • On the day we visited, there were loads of kids running around and screaming as if their life was in danger. Needless to say, it spoiled our experience.
