Vilniaus staciatikiu Sventosios Dvasios vienuolynas, Vilnius

4.7
Lithuania's most important Russian Orthodox church, the Baroque-styled Vilniaus staciatikiu Sventosios Dvasios vienuolynas sports a richly colored interior and the remains of three Orthodox saints. There has been a church here since 1567, but a series of events lead to the site's reconstruction in the mid-18th century. Inside, you can admire the detailed stucco work, sculptures, frescoes, and emerald green iconostasis. A reliquary in the center of the building is home to the remains of St. Anthony, St. Eustatius, and St. John, adorned with red robes on special occasions. Women attending a service may wish to bring a scarf to cover their head, as is customary. Once past the portal rose, we discover that the façade is in the works (too bad, but we must restore the heritage). The inside is impressive and worth the visit.

The second world famous Vilnius-icon, after Our ciation, is "Jesus, I trust in thee" Church of divine mercy sanctuary. This image appeared in a vision of Saint Faustine Kowalska (listed as Saints in 2000). According to her instructions, the artist Eugeniusz Kazimirovka in 1934 year painted icon, where Jesus in white robes with a blessing gesture with the right hand and left hand he points at the heart, whence come down red and white beam. The cult of the divine mercy, with a light hand, became quickly spread worldwide at 40-50 last century despite the fact that until 1971, he was banned by the official Church. A "Beater" is a kind of Catholic prayers to the Rosary-rose has been translated into many languages and has been dubbed the "Whisk the mercy of God" Faustina Kowalska. Appeared even vow cycle of nine days of prayers "DEV'JaTNICJa to BOZhOGO MILOSERDJa". This image also bring votive silver and gold hearts that surround an icon. The Church absolutely wonderfully sung by parishioners during the service. Try to find this small but very light Church and maybe you will be able to see and feel the wonder.
