St. Peter and St. Paul's Church, Vilnius
(4.7/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
Considered perhaps the pinnacle of Baroque church architecture in Lithuania, St. Peter and St. Paul's Church offers visitors the chance to see a wealth of ornate decoration and more than 2,000 carved stucco figures. Finished in 1701, the church and its grounds are ringed by a high wall and several smaller chapels. Enter the main basilica to see its brilliant white interior replete with reliefs, paintings, and columns. Wander inside and explore the different chapels, connected along the perimeter of the building with a series of aisles. Watch for the skeletal statue of Death, a grim reminder of mortality included by the designers of the church, placed among statues of Jesus and other religious figures. • The Church is located opposite Gedemina Avenue and walking in the heart of the old town you cannot never be there. The entrance to the sanctuary is decorated in line with the closest Catholic holidays. The current church and you can witness the Catholic service.

  • The entire interior of the Church consists of stukaturfigurer, made by an Italian master! The Church's exterior is nothing to be attracted by but when you come into the Church after having placed a small coin in a "piggy bank" and received a sole sheet of the Church's interior. stick one of the pictures on the ceiling and along the walls. There are nine niches with different characters from different eras inside the Church. Watch nine opens the Church in summer and 30 minutes later it says a handful of coaches at the Church parking lot which is not enough! The Church's interior is a masterpiece!

  • To the Church for Church I went on foot from the Cathedral for about 1 km. Lead indicators, the road was not attractive. The Interior of the Church oszołamia the white stucco on the walls. Something similar can be found only in Italy. The founder of the Church is a family of the PAC, which run out of funds and in the Church is missing. In the corner to the left of the entry is the original Lithuanian drum brought from Reading. Impressed me also a beautiful chandelier in the shape of a ship. I recommend!

  • The church has a unique decor. Church have been built on the site of a site of worship to Milda, the pagan goddess of love, this breathtaking late Baroque. Containing over 2000 astonishing stucco mouldings representing miscellaneous religious and mythological scenes, of equal magnificence are the 20th-century altar containing a wooden figure of Christ.
  • Our tour in Vilnius does always include this amazing masterpiece of barocue from 17th century. More as 2000 sculptures inside, and good guide could speak more as 2 hours inside, if you would have speacial interest. Feel free to contact us.
  • It was named the most beautiful church from inside for a reason :)
  • This is a beautiful church. Unfortunately, a service was in progress when I visited, and I didn't want to be rude so I didn't go inside.
  • Probably the most beautiful church interior in Vilnius.
